Who: N.A.O.E.2 Jinx (
badluckykitty) and Son Goku (
scimmioluminosa)
What: Building sitting.
Where: On that building over on 9th street and Main... by that mailbox... look up... you can't miss it...
When: Monday evening.

Dusk. It was always a strange thing. Jinx once heard it was supposed to be beautiful, but looking at the smoggy sky, the same one she had been under for 19 years, she doubted she would ever see the beauty people spoke of. Dusk just lit up the smog, making the clouds more noticeable, blotting out the signs of stars. She gripped her legs against her chest, resting her chin upon her bony knees. This building was close to where she lived, so she could easily get on top of it. "Gravity's my bitch," she muttered to herself and tried to laugh. It did not come out very well, turned more into a sigh if anything. Pouting, she slumped and glanced toward the fire escape.

The kid was not here yet. Why did she invite him anyway? Just another kid that she did not know, another face she would never forget no matter how short their meeting. She clutched her cellphone tighter in her hand, waiting for it to vibrate again with a message of 'almost there'. No, she was not going to admit she was lonely to anyone but herself. It had been weeks since she left the block. This rooftop was the furthest she had gone. Ever since that night with Tommy, things had gotten a little different. For some reason, thinking of that poor kid made her began to question the world around her. Was being in the mafia the right thing to do? Well, of course it was! They were her family. But Gin... Rhode had gone out on that red carpet in her little designer shoes, and Jinx was in her apartment constantly flipped open her phone. No message from Gin, no invitation from her family. And if they had just assumed she was going to be there, then she did not go for the sake of spite.

Sighing, she straightened just enough to put her cellphone down her dress, into her bra that acted as a secure pocket. There was not much money left. Everything she had, she took with her. Just to be on the safe side. Just in case the AMC found out about her, found her studio apartment and tore apart everything she owned... which was not much. Material possessions were not a big thing in her life. Everything tangible she had, she lost. It was the connections with people that made the best keepsakes. Yet no matter how she tried, no matter how much of a good girl she was for Gin, it did not make a difference. She was not the highest place in his heart.
