She was perched on a stool in the corner of the gelateria, a cup of chocolate gelato in one hand and a purple plastic spoon in the other. She didn't feel quite right in this place, but she looked right at home with her nice, black jeans and a light blue peasant blouse. Any teenager in Reggio Calabria would be glad to spend their Tuesday sitting in a place like this, but Rhode had a feeling that this had the potential to be an awkward encounter.
Maybe the fact that Gin had practically ordered her to come had been her first hint...
Rhode took a bite of her gelato with a soft sigh, turning the spoon over in her mouth and holding it there for a moment. Looking up at the clock, she closed one eye, contemplating the minute hand curiously. If the girl she was supposed to be meeting here didn't show up on time, did that mean she could go do something else? Gin would probably strangle her if she ran off again, though.
