Mildmay really hoped Felix had sent what he'd said he'd sent in that text. Elsewise, he was going to be knocking on a probably unreceptive door, looking for all the world like an unintelligent jackass. Which, well, he rather thought he was, but that was neither here nor there.
In fact, "here" was the door of the Warrior Princess, and considerably more important than any self-reflecting, overly-emotional bullshit.
He cleared his throat -- though he didn't know why -- and knocked on the door. It may have been a bar, but it wasn't his bar. At least not yet. And Mildmay was nothing if not painstakingly polite.
Until you got his foot up your ass, which, really, you probably deserved.
