Jushirou admitted that at first he was angry with Shunsui. Having not seen the other man in ten years and he suddenly takes it upon himself to show up so suddenly and nearly give the white haired detective a heart attack? What fresh hell...and yet...

And yet, the moment he saw that old partner, his friend and comrade for the finest years of his life, he broke into an uncontrollable smile. He didn't walk up to Shunsui. He ran. And he hugged him.

"You son of a bitch, how dare you do this to me? You know I'm sick!"

"I know you're hardier than that" Shunsui laughed lightly, wrapping his arms tightly around Jushirou and not letting go. "Besides, you're as good looking as ever, so you must be doing well"

Shunsui teased, but he was starting to tear up just over the fact that his friend was here, alive, well, and in one piece.

"Well, being near the ocean helps. And having tea therapy, as well," Jushirou laughed, breaking the contact. After all the time they had been together, Jushirou didn't feel the need to be formal at all with Shunsui. Not even a decade later...

"And don't you cry on me, old friend. We've yet to get you anything to drink, after all. How familiar are you with Italian wines?"

"You're going to end up like one of those monks that mummify themselves over time with tea... but I suppose I'll be right beside you, preserved in an achocol solution"

Speaking of spirits. Jushirou had perfect timing.

"Well, I've heard all kinds of wonderful things about them from a certain person I know, but it's such a bother to get imports back home I havent gotten to try any" He replied, scraching his cheek stoicly.
