He opened his coat, first letting her see that there was no weapon hidden in it(though there was one in his boot, just in case), and pulled out a small disc. On it was copies of all of the online conversations he'd participated in that talked about the planning of the bombings. At no point had he ever seemed as eager as some, simply willing to prove that he wasn't a slacker and that he might be trustworthy.

Kia slid it over to her and took a drink of his shake. "That's all of the plans I knew about. But if there's one thing I can't stand, it's the strong taking advantage of the weak just to prove that they can." His voice was pained. This wasn't the first time he'd seen things like that happen to people he knew and cared for. "I wanted something new and exciting, not ruining the lives of civilians."

Things would have been infinitely easier if he'd come here without attaching himself to anyone or anything, but he was far too used to having orders and some sort of bigger structure in his life to have done that. And now, he was paying for it.

Motoko's eyes scanned the inside of his coat. But she also scanned for metal lower than that, just in case. She saw his other weapon, but she didn't mind for now. If something bad went down, he needed to stay alive too, though she would do everything in her power to keep him alive.

Next her eyes fell on the disk. She took it, turning it over, examining it. This was definitely the information that she needed. She looked back up at the kid, sympathetically this time.

"That's good," She said after he had made both of his comments. "It means you're still human."

||ooc: Maybe you could get together links to the convos that are actually contained on that disk for me? Or point me in the right direction? I'd like to know EXACTLY what's on that disk so I don't step out of line.||

"I feel like I'm more human than most of the damn town right now," he said with a sigh as he munched on some of the fries. "There are a bunch of people who don't care what's happened, some who are enjoying it, and then there's me, dead as a roach if anyone finds out I came here."

Kia hadn't relaxed at all since she showed up. If anything, actually talking had made him even more nervous, more worried that soeone might be listening in or looking despite the owners' reassurance to keep their eyes open for anything suspicious.

"I know the feeling," Motoko said, her tone softer now. "But there are people like me too, who are going to stop at nothing to bring in those who did this and punish them for the lives they've ruined." But then her look grew serious.

"You need to come in with me. That's the only way I can keep you safe..." She did her won scan of the room again. "Unless you have some other plan."

"Punishment is easier thought about than carried out, but I'll be happy knowing that the lives of people not involved are in less danger when the others involved are off the streets."

Kia heard what she said next and shook his head. Staying locked up wasn't safety, it was hiding. That would seem far too suspicious to the one who'd given him orders. "I have to meet with the one who arranged this later tonight. And I consider myself good enough at acting that he won't know what I really feel. If I stop living normally, someone I care about might notice and worry."

"Trust me, I will get them," Motoko promised. If she couldn't at least get these people, then she really would be a failure. Her job really would mean nothing. She really couldn't do a damn thing about this city. She wouldn't stand for an ending like that.

"In that case..." Motoko had a plan forming. "Would you be up to using this meeting to gather more evidence for my investigation?" She needed to get the man who had organized all of it. Just locking up the soldiers who carried out his handy work was not doing anything. Just as Otacon had said to her, she had to wait for the whole beast to show itself before she could cut off the head.

"Meeting him will make me nervous enough. I'm sorry, but I can't do that right now." Kia really didn't want to meet Dio, but there was no way to get out of it.

He didn't know what else there was to say, so he finished his milkshake and sighed, ready to get up and head home.

"Then when you're done with your meeting, I have no choice but to arrest you," Motoko said, her tone growing dark. She wasn't playing around. "I hope you know what that means. Don't even try running, I don't want to make this hard."

He nodded. "You don't have to arrest me. I'll turn myself in willingly once I've taken care of things. No running, just walking there and letting you and your colleagues deal with me."

Kia paid for both of their orders. It was only polite.

Her red eyes just watched him for a long time in silence. It took her a second to come back to the here and now.

"Alright. I'll be waiting for you when you're ready."

"And thank you."
