The meaning of family

Jushirou Sogyo was a lucky man. He had a flourishing business. He had numerous close friends. He had cherished loved ones. And he even, for the last month or so, had good health. Yes, you could say Old Man Sogyo (whom wasn't that old at all) was a very lucky man with much to be thankful for. And that was the very reason he held this dinner every year. He had read about the old American holiday and found he connected with its ideals. That those who are blessed...should share that blessing. In thanks of having it at all.
There were two tables. One, of course, had places set for all of his expected guests. This was not a rectangular table, but rather that of a circle. Each person would be able to converse with another. Everyone would be able to see the others' face. He liked it what way. It felt more like a home in that matter...
The other table was literally covered with various dishes and trays, stacked to the fullest with some of Jushirou's best cooking. It, of course, leaned towards a blending of Japanese and Italian cuisine, as well as some German. Something he hoped his eclectic guests would appreciate. And the room was filled with the smell of still baking pies.
Soon, his often empty house would be filled with "family". He only wished that Jinx and Alba were there to enjoy it with him.
