WHO: Uryu Ishida, Dexter Morgan, Lisa Yadomaru, and Near
WHAT: The investigation begins!
WHERE: The Hungry Bug Where the Hungry Bug used to be
WHEN: Sunday, mid-morning
This had been unexpected, to say the least. Uryu Ishida, one of the newest members of the Commission, and a mere Soldier to boot, had been assigned to lead a team on a major case: both murder and arson of a major member of the community, a team composed of three members who had all been part of the AMC longer than he had and been in Reggio Calabria longer than he had.
Needless to say, he was a little overwhelming. The change was sudden and a bit jarring, switching from being the rookie of a team to being a leader of another, especially so quick on the heels of the beginning of the first assignment. But Ishida's pride and drive would not let him back down. The AMC, he understood, was somewhat short-handed, especially with the departure of Lieutenant Stark and Aigis, and the ennui that had settled on the Commission would not be broken easily. Even if he felt unprepared for this position, who else was going to take it, who else was going to do what needed to be done?
And so he'd manage as best he could.
Arriving about mid-morning, having collapsed from exhaustion the night before after helping Lieutenant Zhang and fight the fire and protect the civilians, Uryu flashed his badge at the agents standing guard and entered the scene, waiting for his forensics experts to arrive before doing anything, knowing basic procedure to avoid disturbing evidence, but knowing they would catch things that he wouldn't. Morgan, it seemed, was the most on top of things, and would probably be here soon-- perhaps was even already here. The others he wasn't sure about-- particularly the young Near. Still, given his own age, he could hardly underestimate the scientist's abilities.
