She'd spent the time since leaving the AMC reading and doing her own sort of research, trying to find someone worth following, investigating, and perhaps eventually taking care of. Aigis knew that it wouldn't be easy to work on these things alone, but felt that she could handle it safer than a human could.

The knock on the door caught her completely off guard. Ichigo would have called to say he was coming by, and she didn't think that anyone else had her address. So when she stood up, she let the fingertips on her right hand pull back, ready to shoot at whoever was on the other side if need be.

"Who is there?"

Kuja could not help the cold, sharp laugh that escaped him just then. So cautious. She would be a fun one to bring into the group.

"I believe we spoke over the phone, Miss Aigis. Or that could have been a mere flight of my imagination. If you are still interested in speaking, I think it would be easier if your door was not between us."

She recognized the voice, but it did nothing to reassure her that this man was no threat. Aigis kept her hand ready as she pulled the door open, blue eyes quickly assessing the odd-looking man on the other side.

"I would prefer it if you didn't speak in circles. Tell me what your offer is so I can have time to consider it." His speech patterns grated on her nerves, made her think of old enemies.

Kuja's mouth stretched into an amused grin as he made to move past her into the apartment beyond the door. A simple test really- he had to see how good Aigis' sense of survival and self protection were, of course. He would naturally still be considered a possible threat, in which case she would react accordingly if she was indeed right for the job.

"Do you not like circles, Miss Aigis? A pity, to hate such an eternity- a loop with no beginning and no end. Though I suppose that is very different from my offer, seeing it is finite in it's own origins and the means it wishes to reach. However, I am disinclined to keep from circles until I see a point in speaking in lines." Oh and such a well crafted speech, now lets just see if she can see the point to it. The point that Kuja was testing her.

She looked him over as he stepped in and kept her fingers aimed at some non-vital spot for the time being. Although Aigis couldn't be killed easily, she could still be injured or hacked, should someone try.

"Eternity is a wonderful thing to hope for, but people live in lines. Some much more crooked than others, and some with shorter lines than we wished they'd have. Yet they are still lines."

Whatever he was trying to get at, Aigis wasn't sure she wanted part of it if it meant having to listen to this babble often.

Ah, she was still on her guard well after he had stepped into the apartment. Good, very good.

"Well spoken, Miss Aigis. As for that offer of mine, I believe you have more than earned the right to hear it if you still wish to."

He was still leaving the matter in her hands. He was not going to explain such a plan if she was still not fully willing to hear it. He needed full commitment here.

She nodded slowly. Hearing the offer would give her the chance to decide if she wanted part of it or not, without taking Kuja's theatrics into consideration. Aigis gestured at the small couch and recliner, should he wish to sit down, but opted to remain standing.

"I still want to know what you think I could help you with. I need to do something other than sit around and feel useless."

If anything, that response had Kuja's grin stretching wider. Perfect, the little bird had flown directly into his waiting palm.

"I am sure you have taken notice of how...disorderly our beloved city had become." He murmured, taking a slow walk about the room. "Even with a police force, this city will fall very quickly into riotous calamity if these...criminals are not kept under better tabs. That is why, Miss Aigis, I have constructed my own force- a group of virtuous individuals meant to hold back this rebellious fools. Would joining such a group interest you?"

She listened and lowered her gun arm, though her fingertips didn't cover her fingers again. Dealing with the city's criminals without the limitations of the AMC was exactly what she wanted to do, and Kuja was offering her that chance, along with whoever else the strangely beautiful man worked with.

Aigis looked pleased. "Assuming there would be fewer rules and forms associated with this group than the organization I just left, I would be glad to join." She still didn't completely trust Kuja, but this was a start.

"Oh I assure you, I let this group do as they please while guaranteeing as little interference from outside forces as possible." Kuja's voice was rich, and almost false in it's reassurances- it was a good thing the words he spoke were indeed true.

"I will contact you with more information in the next few days. Todays meeting was only to assure that you would indeed wish to join us."

"I'm not sure why you decided to ask me about this, but I thank you for the opportunity to help protect the people in this city who cannot take care of themselves." Even if she didn't stay with this group for long, it would be a good place to start and she might meet people there she could be friends with.

Aigis smiled still and nodded at him. "You know how to get in touch with me. I won't be going anywhere any time soon."
