Well, it's definitely not New York.

It's really been a while. I haven't been here in... Wow, fifteen years?

Back to the starting point.

Thanks. It's good to be back. I think.

Is it? I'm sure the city will seem quite different to you, once you acclimate.

Is it really that different?

... I guess I don't remember much. I was only three when we left, and a lot can happen in fifteen years.

Three... Hardly even cognizant... I'm relatively new here. But from what I understand, this city has gone through a number of changes.

... What kind of changes?

For instance: rumors have been spreading like a virulent plague about mutants roaming the streets. You wouldn't happen to know about that already, would you?

At any rate... Welcome back, again. Might I ask what your name is?

Uh, it's Billy-- or William, actually. William Kaplan.

Listen, about these... Mutants. Or whatever. Not that I'm really interested or anything, you know, because that'd just be silly. Just kind of... Er, curious.

But... Do you know what people are saying? What the rumors are?

These mutants are said to be wholly the result of genetic manipulation. But I suppose I could even speculate that a very rare percentage of them are naturally different.

You seem a little more than curious William. But, please, don't allow yourself to be one of those fools that fears their own curiosity. Prize it.

You could say it's... A personal interest. I have so many questions.

How long have

Where can I

What do you mean by natu

Could people know about m

...What if there was just one mutant I wanted to find?

Don't be afraid to question.

I never claimed to know everything about these mutants...

However...

I'd need sufficient details to answer this hypothetical question of yours.

And you will trust me...

(ooc: Strikes are thoughts. I'm somewhat of a newb here. I hope that's okay.)

( Works for me. :] )

R-right! Speaking... Purely in a theoretical sense. Say, this mutant was... Erm, sort of a runaway. I don't know that much, I was only three when she Her powers maybe involving some kind of... Spell-casting, or maybe healing and energy manipulation?

(ooc: ^_^ Thanks.)

Those are high-level abilities, William. I'm sure such a person would draw attention to themselves readily.

Are you aware of the power structure of this city - the families that orchestrate the politicians and illegal trades? A runaway is a perfect catch for these families.

A perfect catch for me...

Perhaps I could be of assistance, theoretically.
