Hypothetical question...

If you said that your life was pretty close to being perfect, is that like an invitation for something to go wrong?

It seems to go by turns...

I'm pretty sure you're right about that.

Which means we've gotta take advantage of it while it lasts, right?

There is the philosophy that we tend to attract whatever we focus on--but superstitions aside, I've learned it's better to handle things as they come, and not waste time worrying and waiting for something to go wrong. "Roll with the punches." You know?

I happen to be enjoying a bit of calm in the eye of the storm, myself.

That's good advice. I try to do that too but...sometimes my emotions just get the better of me and I try to punch back. Even when I know it's pointless.

So you're okay right? With all this crazy stuff that's going on?

I know what you mean. Emotions are a tough act to follow sometimes.

I've been alright. Took some time out from work to stay with friends across town. Just trying to keep out of trouble. Although with certain vices of mine it's easier said than done.

You should have seen me a couple weeks ago. My, ah, beau and I got Reno and Axel's version of the protective older brother/guy friend act. Tough love. I was about ready to knock all three of their heads together.

Trouble's pretty easy to find sometimes...or it finds you...not matter how hard you try. Of that, I can speak from experience.

Your beau, huh~

I'm sure they all had good intentions...but good intentions don't make it any less annoying sometimes. Like the boss and Zack, for example.

That's true enough.

Well, he's not a client, and he's not my pimp--but "lover" isn't quite right either. Boyfriend? It's probably bad for publicity if I have a significant other but c'est la vie.

I'm sure that would have been an interesting conversation to overhear.
