Oi, oi, now this is what I'm talking about! This place certainly has changed a lot in the time I was gone. Oh, the nostalgia. The grand old memories. That stagnant air. Those filth clogged waterways. The faint atmosphere of desolation hanging in the atmosphere. Really, this place hasn't changed at all ( Read more... )

Ah ha! So a raven-haired angel chooses to perch in front of my viewing screen. Who might you be, my fair-skinned muse?

My name is Lulu.

Johnny greets you, dearest Lulu. So what might be your plight within this confining city?

A pleasure to meet you, Johnny. My plight, I suppose, is trying to work myself out of a job.

In what respect?

In that I would like to eventually retire from working as a professional escort. Not that I don't enjoy it at times--I just don't know if I can keep on doing it indefinitely. I also don't want to end up going back to my family to pay the bills...if you know what I mean.

My heart goes out to you, my tender dove. If a woman chooses to make good money in such work, I see no problem with it. I have sold my body to older women when I was in my youth, back before I even had any decent skill in such an arena. Pleasurable and profitable.

If you were forced into such work, however, I'm afraid I'd have to use some rather uncouth tactics on the bastard who did so. A cool woman like you deserves flowers, money, and passion.

Now, now, Johnny--I'm not as fragile as all that. It's true, I didn't have much choice in the matter, but since then I have chosen to make the most of it--to be the best in my field until such time as I have worked myself out of a job.

I am flattered, though, that you would take it upon yourself to avenge my honor. Not many men would do that for someone like me. As if I were so far beneath them. You'd be hard pressed to exact your vengeance on a ghost though.

Ah, already passed on, then? No doubt such a person would have had enemies.

Might I inquire after a day out with you? At the very least some lunch or dinner at one of the finer restaurants.

Indeed. Although lately I have been feeling as if the ghosts of my past are coming back to haunt me...

But of course you may, Johnny. I might even be persuaded to show you a few of the sight. What--or, I might ask, when--did you have in mind?

I happen to specialize in burning away the most daunting of threats with the light of my justice.

As soon as possible. I've recently set up shop in a warehouse near the shore, but I can move about with a fair amount of ease. Tell me when and where is best for you, and I shall be at the ready.

I will certainly keep that in mind.

I am usually free on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but I can be available as soon as tomorrow, if you like. I do love the seaside, but my house is at Via Ceci and Via Argine Sinestro--near the center of town--if you'd like to pick me up there.

Just give me a ring when you'd like to drop by.

Ah, tomorrow then! That works perfectly. I should be all settled in. Just send me your directions and I can stop by around noon, tomorrow.
