Ooooh, he is absolutely adorable! Too cute for words! I love your lot, they are all fab! Now I'm really hoping all the more that my b-day surprise from my hubby is little guy like yours.

So you think he ordered a mnf Shiwoo elf for you? That would be really cool.

I am finding this little guy to be so utterly charming and cute. He truly has little hearts and flowers surrounding him all the time. He blinks those big eyes and he can get my big guys to do anything.

I thinks so...or at least it is a strong possibility. My b-day is in a little less than two weeks and I really wanted that NaNuRi (sp?) head and I wanted the elf Shiwoo, and a couple of the other Luts dolls so my husband asked for a list in order of preference and the Shiwoo was my first choice so there is a pretty good chance that is what he chose... :) I'm hoping at any rate. At some point I'm going to get the second head a body since I have plans for them to be twins. I just got my first doll on Monday (a Limwha Half-Elf) so it should be interesting to see how they get along.

I popped over to see your new doll - she is quite lovely! Congratulations!

The NaNuRi will make a nice companion your your lady. It is a great head but I didn't have much use for him in my universe. So I ordered a few things in a group order so a friend could get enough together to get the head for one of his characters.

A lot of people are making the two Shiwoo elf heads twins. Are you keeping the second head male or changing it to female?

Thank you; I am head-over-heels with Fianna. LOL! I’m sure many people would think I’m mad since I talk to her but what is really funny is my husband talks to her too and will sometimes tell me what mood she is in. He always wishes "both his ladies" good-night or good-morning.

I'm making them male and female - I'm a clothing historian as well as an historical costumer and for some reason I picture them in 18th century outfits (Fianna too for that matter). It is a bit disconcerting for me to find this sudden fad for 18th c. because everyone will think I'm copying and I've had this idea since I've first laid eyes on a BJD. And there is nothing I hate worse than following trends. The only problem with doing it is trying to find appropriate footwear.

Cool. Good to know we’re not completely off our nut. LOL! Or at least we have company if we are… I am extremely lucky in Michael, he is supportive everything I do, I know that is extremely rare and I treasure him for it, I do my best to return the favour as well ( ... )

Thanks for the Mary Jane offer! I suspect they will be too small for Shuichi, though. While the stats say he has a 7.8cm foot, 8cm shoes don't fit him. He has long feet, except his wide ball, which makes a lot of narrow shoes not fit. I can get him in 8.5cm shoes okay but he does best with a 9cm shoe. I can only get SD13, SD 16 or Dollshe shoes to fit him. Regular SD shoes don't fit at all, which is annoying sometimes. I see some really cute shoes he would look great wearing but they would be too small.

However, go ahead and measure the shoes and see just how long they are. There is a slim chance they will work, so let's do the initial work, just to confirm yay or nay.

And Eiri is another shoe story all together! Those Model Doll M feet are boats! All the Dollshe shoes I purchased for him (when I thought the character would be a Dollshe) are too small.

Well, I’ve got the Mary Janes in front of me and they are going to be too small for him, they are only 7.3 cm long and 3.3 cm wide - I think it is the width that makes them swim on Fianna. At least a Mary Jane would be fairly easy to make if you were feeling adventuresome. I’ve found a couple of helpful links if you are interested:

The principle is the same for making other types of shoes as well of course. Sorry they didn’t work out and good luck finding shoes for your guys. I have big feet myself so I know what it is like.

Thanks for the links!

I used a doll pattern book I got a few years ago, geared toward both antique and American Girl dolls. The pattern was a lot like the one in the first link but only had the one strap. The shoe was too wide but long enough so I made the MJs out of brown felt, cardboard, tacky glue and that stiffened felt for the sole. Maybe I should try it again with leather scraps, but first, I would much rather find someone who could hand-craft them for me.

Luckily, my mnf Shiwoo elf has brown MJs because Luts makes them. I just wish they did not have such tall clunky heels. Now I have to make HIM a jumper.

You're very welcome. I hope they will help.

I'm going to try making my own shoes for Fianna at some point, but I'm trying to get a pair of defective feet to use as lasts first. I have the leather already.

I'm sure there is someone on DoA who can make shoes. Did you know there is a YahooGroups dedicated to dollshoes? If you have no luck on DoA, you could try there.

I wish that Luts made a wider range of things for their MiniFee dolls since most of the stuff they have is sold out and there isn't a wide selection to begin with. Besides, you're right, most of the shoes have clunky soles or heels.
