While Shu sneaks his other hand around Eiri' shoulder, Eiri turns his own hand for a better grip on Shuichi's hand.

I cannot tell is this is a stranglehold or a hug.
Eiri WAS napping but Shu showed up, snuggled in and started stroking his face.
