husky head arrives
I picked up the Husky head during a bunch of errands today.
When I got him home, I immediately popped a blond wig on him and took him to the media room to show rat. He commented on how he looked dead because he didn't have any eyes. I dug out some yellow eyes, popped them in and took him back for 'inspection'. rat went - Whoa! rat liked the intense look the Husky had.
Yes, rat does have an opinion about the resin men I bring into the house and I ask him about them all the time. He is also sweet about carrying and holding them. I sometimes take one guy out with me when we go run errands and such and he will hold them and pose them to show them off to strangers while I am trying to wrestle with something. Gotta love a man who is willing to hold a doll, or my hot pink purse!
Back to the story - After getting eyes in place, I started looking for some kind of bottle to put him on to begin taking wig comparison shots - no luck. The bottle tops were too large.
So I decided on a whim to take Shuichi's head off and put Husky normal skin on his Iplehouse white body. Not only did the head fit great, the resin tone is just slightly off, meaning Husky could use the body! Who would have guessed? I will be taking some indoor and outdoor photos of this later to show resin differences. I think knowing a smaller body is an option for a DollShe head would be something others would find interesting.
So after I sign off this, I am going to start taking some photos with different blond wigs to see if any really let him 'come out' as Eiri. I know the soft wig I WANT to work but the fur will need to be styled a lot better than it is now.
So while I did not get a Bermann (I really wanted a Froggy!) to be Eiri, I think I have made out pretty well with what I have now. Personally, I think it was meant to be - that I would not win the Bermann so these other lucky 'gifts' would be more appreciated and cherished. Part of the luck has to do with the 'secret', too.
The head DOES have the tiniest crack on the top left eyelid. The black paint is inside it. I think it can be fixed by first q-tipping both inside and out the crack with cleaner then putting outline on the eye.
I also got shoe materials today...
