Has LJ been flaking for others lately? I wasn't able to get in all day and even now it likes to time out on me.

Yes, I'm pretty sure there's another denial of service attack going on. Right now, it seems to affect longer posts (i.e., long fanfics) the most, and earlier in the day, access through e-mail notifications or clicking on entries in my LJ inbox was impossible.

I haven't been able to do ANYTHING in the evenings. I got in this morning.

Yeah, it's been a massive pain in the ass for about the last week or so. Mine is now refusing to show me more than 2-3 posts on my flist.

On March 29th there was a MASSIVE DDoS attach on Livejournal, they are still recovering from that. Yesterday, at about 5am PST there was a second one. Which, obviously, they have also not recovered from. There are announcements and information in their twitter, their news feed, on the main support page, and I believe their maintenance page. It'll probably also be in this weeks news email thing.

Thanks for the info. Since I don't Twitter and all the rest of the info was on LJ where no one could read it, I didn't know what had happened.

I still can't get into it at night.

I've never had a problem with http://status.livejournal.org/ being down, even when the rest is. I get the feeling it may be hosted differently than the rest of it. You can also check http://downrightnow.com/livejournal it's generally the best source, and they often will give you information like it's a DDoS attack if they have it. Plus, the links on the righthand side will take you to places with other info (for example, twitter - you don't need an account to read someone else's feed if you have the direct link).

Yup, regular lj & mobile :( i'm using mobile a lot more now, but it has been down more than reg view. I'm guessing the dos attack is the problem.

Found out about the DOS attack from skada in an email, since I haven't been able to get on here.
