So Isle of Wight was pretty grand if not a bit too hot. I got sunburn and nearly passed out a couple of times. There's just no escape from the heat, it sucks. But anyway
Placebo really impressed me even though I'm not much of a fan, The Kooks were fairly good, so were Maximo Park, Proclaimers were fun (even though everyone was there just to hear one song), Prodigy were utterly amazing, Editors were good and Coldplay were undescribable. Singing along with ten thousand people to Yellow, Fix You and all the rest was amazing and they put on a great show. Chris Martin said if England win the World Cup they're going to release a song called "Doin' the Crouch" which will apparently go:
Get up off your sofa
Get up off your couch
Stop watchin' T.V
And do The Crouch
Pretty amusing. He kept dropping it into songs and even did the Crouch onstage. They also played Perfect Day because Lou Reed apparently "forgot" and brought a fan on stage to swig champagne. It was just so amazing, the atmosphere for them and for The Prodigy made all the travelling and sunburn worth it. I'm very tired and very glad to be home.
