countries & political bodies

Garderobe Academy
Ruler: Garderobe Five Columns, led by Headmistress Natsuki Kruger.
Otome:
Column I: Ms. Sara Gallagher, Galactic Acquamarine
Column II: Ms. Natsuki Kruger, Ice Silver Crystal
Column III: Ms. Shizuru Viola, Bewitching Smile Amethyst
Column IV: Ms. Juliet Nao Zhang, Break String Spinel
Column V: Ms. Mahya Blythe, Swirling Dance Fluorite
Ms. Maria Graceburt, Eternal Recurrence Jasper
Ms. Yukariko Steinberg, Dazzling Mirage Lapis Lazuli
Notes: Garderobe functions both as an independent political entity and as something akin to the United Nations. It is a neutral body dedicated primarily to safeguarding the technology of Earth and the Otome system. All Otome--Columns, staff, and students--are contracted directly to the Otome system and its Founder, Fumi Himeno, rather than to an independent Master.

Kingdom of Windbloom
Ruler: Queen Mashiro Blanc de Windbloom
Otome: Ms. Arika Yumemiya, Blue Sky Sapphire; Nina Wáng, Neptune Emerald (temporarily)
Notes: A wealthy desert nation, Windbloom appears to be a rough mix of France, England, America, and Japan. It is the home of Garderobe Academy, and as such often holds the political spotlight.

Artài Principality
Ruler: formerly Grand Duke Nagi Dai Artài
Otome: formerly Ms. Nina Wáng, Ultimate Black Diamond; formerly Valkyrie Unit (Tomoe Marguerite, Chie Hallard, et al.)
Notes: Artài is a small, cold, impoverished duchy high in the mountains. Recently it allied itself with the Schwartz in an attempt to dismantle the Otome system and popularize war, but they were defeated by an alliance of Garderobe, Windbloom, Aries, An Nam, and other countries. Currently it is under observation by Ms. Juliet Nao Zhang, the Fourth Column of Garderobe.

Aries Republic
Ruler: President Yukino Chrysant
Otome: Brigadier General Ms. Haruka Armitage, Continental Orb Topaz; Ms. Chie Hallard; Delta Force
Notes: Pretty obviously analogous to America, with its "Hexagon" military base, Aries is a democratic republic on the coast. Aries is fiercely patriotic, wealthy, and has a powerful military force led by the President, her Otome, and a joint staff. It has other Otome besides just the Brigadier General, including Meister Chie Hallard, GEM and Master unknown, and the Delta Force, a team of four Otome contracted to one Master. Aries and Windbloom are close allies.

United Kingdom of Lutesia
Ruler: unnamed king (Lutesia Romulus), unnamed queen (Lutesia Remus)
Otome: Ms. Carla Bellini, Rumbling Thunder Garnet (Lutesia Romulus); Laura Bianchi, Flowery Splendour Enstatite (Lutesia Remus)
Notes: Previously just the Kingdom of Lutesia, Lutesia Romulus and Lutesia Remus have a history of domestic conflict and civil war. It appears to be a blend of Italy and Austria.

Florince
Ruler: King Charles Guinel Roy de Florince VIII
Otome: Ms. Rosalie Claudel, Abyssal Green Jadeite; Ms. Shiho Huit, Spiral Spin Serpentine
Notes: Little is known about Florince, but it appears to be a cultural blend of France and Germany.

Cardair Empire
Ruler: Emperor Kazuya Krau-xeku, et al.
Otome: Ms. Akane Soir, Pure Heart Malachite
Notes: Appearing to be a blend of France, Germany, Poland, and eastern Europe, Cardair is rocky and mountainous. While it lacks the political clout of Windbloom and Aries and probably lacks their wealth, it is not in Artài's dire situation. Cardair is ruled by a trinity of imperial families. Currently under observation by Column V, Mahya Blythe, because of Emperor Kazuya and Meister Akane's repeated attempts to elope.

Galeria
Ruler: Unknown.
Otome: Unknown.
Notes: Galeria is a distant country with little distinction aside from being the original home of both former Ms. Lena Sayers and her daughter Ms. Arika Yumemiya.

An Nan
Ruler: Emperor Nguyễn Bảo
Otome: Ms. Ảnh Lữ, Infinite Wisdom Azurit.
Notes: An Nan is close allies with Aries and Windbloom, and was part of the alliance to retake Windbloom and Garderobe from Artài. It is likely the equivalent of Vietnam.

Zipang
Ruler: Unnamed shogun (one son in line to succeed: Tokiha Takumi no Kamidori).
Otome: None.
Notes: So very obviously Japan, it hurts. Zipang is largely isolationist and pacifistic, although it has its own military. It is wholly against the Otome system and as such has none of its own, preferring to rely on highly trained warriors.

Taiyuan
Ruler: Unknown.
Otome: Unknown.
Notes: Little is known about Taiyuan, although it is likely analogous to China.

Aswad
Ruler: Midori
Otome: None.
Notes: A desert tribal community considered outcasts by much of Earl, Aswad's homeland in the Black Valley was obliterated two hundred years ago during the great war. Its people suffer from some sort of degenerative disease, possibly leukemia, and several have used Aswad's remnants of Earth's technology to transfer their consciousnesses into mechanical bodies. Currently in an alliance with Garderobe and Windbloom and seeking a cure for its disease in Garderobe's archives.

Schwartz
Ruler: John Smith.
Otome: formerly the Valkyrie Unit.
Notes: A shadowy and subversive paramilitary organization that seeks the destruction of the Otome system for some unknown reason. It is led by an entity known as John Smith, a title-slash-name given to its public representative. Many of its members worship science as a supposed god.

Earl Church
Ruler: Unknown.
Otome: Unknown.
Notes: Dedicated to helping the helpless.
