Today on Jana's livejournal we're taking about obsessions

It happens every time. There's never been a recognizable point in my life where I haven't obsessed overe things. When I obsess though, I hardcore obsess. Just ask my brothers they'll tell you. Actually don't, I'm sure they'll mention rather embaressing stories about when I was able to quote Harry Potter word for word; come to think of it I still can; wait, wait how do I remember this shit for that long???? Side tracking over, for now. So the pattern is usually something like this:
  • Find something new to amuse me. This is normally found on youtube (in the form of television or music or anime) or onemanga (in, you guessed it, the form of manga). Once I find the new thing to amuse me I either read/watch everything I can find to completely understand the topic. In case of Harry Potter this also meant reading newspaper articles and scholarly journals (yes the Harry Potter obsession did take up a very large portion of my life thanks for asking)

  • After reading everything the next step is googling things (side note to myself: I can't believe firefox just recognized googling as a word. Did I add it to the dictionary at some point?). I should probably take a moment now to mention that I am a known master of google-fu (no seriously) and if you really need to find something but haven't been able to just ask me and I'm almost certain I can find it. Back on topic, I spend the next few days, or weeks depending on how popular the new fandom I am entering into is, and how much free time I have, researching the fandom. In other words I cyberstalk the fandom completely and utterly. I'm just that cool.

  • Depending on what the fandom is like I will start to participate in various discussions or things from in fandom. If the fandom has huge wars like Harry Potter, I'm less inclined to participate, because really I have enough shit going on in real life to be dealing with without the additional drama that pairing wars seem to bring. (Yes I'm looking at you Harry Potter fandom). That's partially why I'm so happy to find a fandom that doesn't seem to get involved in shit like that. I'm impressed actually.

My newest fandom is Arashi. An amazing J-pop band that I absolutely adore. Really I do! Their songs are enough to make me really happy. Happy enough to spend money that I really never would have thought of before. Yes, I actually just bought something. This is something previously unheard of in all of my other fandoms. My normal outlook on things like this is, it's on the internet anyway why buy it? And then I end up doing stupid things like giving all my friends money from my paychecks. But regardless, this post is basically now going to be me completely and utterly fangirling over my new fandom. Feel free to leave anytime, I'll even make an LJ cut just for you.
Me? Love Arashi? Never. Yeah, right. I bet everyone completely and utterly bought that in a heartbeat right? Yeah that's what I thought. Wanna meet my new obsessions? Okay.

Now for the members:
First up is MATSUMOTO JUN, or more commonly called MatsuJun.

credit for this pic goes to yuckie-chan

Next is Ninomiya Kazunari, AKA Nino. Who is completely and utterly my favorite. I blame the fact that he plays games. I totally love gamers, and guys with glasses but that's an entirely different matter.

OHNO SATOSHI aka Nino's soul mate. Anyway I love Ohno, he's a dork. Actually all of Arashi are dorks.

AIBA MASAKI. He's adorable, I want to squish him a lot. Seriously, you can't tell me he's not a cutie.

SAKURAI SHO! Have I proclaimed my love for you recently? Your fail is amazing and Quiz Show almost broke my heart. I've seriously warmed up to Sho, he use to be at the bottom of my list, and now he's third.

ohno, harry potter, arashi, matsujun, aiba, nino, sho, obsessions
