No I haven't gone missing...
...just another LJ hiatus for no other reason than general can't-be-bothered-ness... Hence, this is just a general catch-up
* I've been working a shitload recently, but then I've been doing that for 6 months plus. It's not that there isn't the budget to get more people into our team, more that they seem to be struggling to find people. This makes it all the more frustrating! Rah. I'm not going to go on about that too much though; seems like I've said it all before and it's not even interesting.
* Music-wise, I've been thinking of my three favourite albums of the year so far, and I've come up with Sufjan Stevens' Illonois, The Great Destroyer by Low (destined to be the most overlooked and underrated album of 2005 maybe?), and possibly Takk by Sigur Ros. I've still not 100% sure on the the latter, but it's going to be up there. Top 5 I reckon. Upcoming gigs in next few weeks include The Rogers Sisters, Gemma Hayes, Sufjan, Emiliana Torrini.
* It's only just over two months until we go to Australia now. 7th December for one month, which Zoe is obviously 'pumped', 'pysched' and numerous other Austalianisms about. It'll be good to dodge a month of the Great British Winter, and experience some hopefully-not-too-tempramental Melbourne weather instead (how English am I, I'm talking about the weather....) We're talking about going to Sydney for two or three days midweek after we arrive - I never got round to doing the whole Bridgeclimb thing where I was over before as I was too broke. It'll be great to be there and actually have money to spend...I feel like I've got a little bit of a point to prove after being so tight with my cash last time, especially with Zoe's family. Oh, and I'm cooking Christmas lunch for the whole extended family. It's going to be great.
I'll write more this week. Let's see if I can keep my word.
