Prologue
One

Junsu’s eyebrow twitched in annoyance as his seatmate threw his book into his face. He dropped the book before and ready to smile and said thanks to Yoochun when he saw the other bent down to grab the book on the floor for him. His preparation spent in empty purpose only to get the book thrown into his face resulting in red nose.

“You…!” The annoyed boy stood up from his chair, ready to strangle the other, fiery eyes met the calm but filled annoyance ones. He had already started to launch his body to Yoochun when he realized that he still in a class.

The high sound of moving chair broke the silence at the class as all heads moved to see the source of the dolphin shrieking sound, who is no other than Kim Junsu. The teacher raised an eyebrow to him, ready to ask him question about his sudden silence breaking noise. He sat down to his chair again with fidgeting fingers and nervous smile, the other boy beside him just looked at his textbook like nothing happened before. Junsu saw Changmin’s curious eyes fell on him but he refused to meet him, which make Changmin’s curious face turned into disbelieving one. He sat still, tail still in fire, wanted none than finishing the class quickly and disappeared from the charming jerk beside him.

“He is cool…”

Junsu stayed quiet as he dumped his books into a poor locker, muttering darkly to the room inside it before finally responding to Changmin. The other boy just watched Junsu dumping his book at his already messy locker with amusement painted in his face.

“Cool my eyes…” Junsu hissed, obviously knew Changmin wanted to know what had happened in the class before. He wouldn’t just ask him straight forwardly, Junsu knew him, Shim Changmin and his strange way of thinking. That might the minus point of being a genius, he concluded to himself and gave thanks that he was an ordinary person.

Changmin raised his eyebrows for the nth time to his best friend when he saw the bubbly happy-go-lucky boy’s face wrinkled disgustingly at the thought of Yoochun’s bad manner.

“You are just jealous…”

“Whatever…” Junsu slammed his locker with all of his power and made the other boy winced with the sound.

Yoochun, or his new rude seatmate, Junsu named him, was charming. Junsu, himself didn’t deny his handsomeness or rather he called it pretty. He had husky raspy voice promised with sinful secret coating it. Junsu would like it if the owner of the voice didn’t tell him not to talk to him. The person himself was covered with elegancy spoken through all of his movement. Secrecy and question lurked in every inch of his soulful eyes when he swept his eyes to the other faces in the class before left the entire population swooned after him.

“He can be next idol, I guess, judging from the other’s girl look at him… the only flaw is he is so quiet…” Changmin chirped happily.

“You have already worshipped him?” Disbelieve coated every words from the shrieking boy. He wanted nothing more than shook his best friend until he couldn’t talk anymore.

“Well, I always worship something pretty…”

Junsu rolled his eyes and decided that it was wasting his time to argue with his best friend, especially with IQ as high as Shim Changmin.

“I can’t believe I am your friend, Shim…”

“I can’t believe either, Kim…”

Junsu smiled at his friend’s answer and saw Changmin mirrored his smile. At this time he wanted nothing but hug the bot. he didn’t do it though, self-pride is number one priority.

“I can’t wait to go home, where are you going after school? My hyung will have dance practice with his team this evening, want to see?”

Junsu loved to dance, he liked the sound of the bouncy bout ran from one tone to another when he swayed his hips. He loved the feeling of the overflowing blood in his vessels when he slipped himself into the rhythm. He sighed, the older brother of his bratty friend was an awesome dancer, the one he looked like a mentor, and he was more than excited when he saw the other’s practices. However, he needed to so something else.

He needed to look for a job.

“No, I can’t…”

“Why?” Changmin looked a little taken back, he knew Junsu would act like hyper crazy kid when his brother told him to just come for his practice.

“I need to do something else.”

“What is this something else?”

“You are too nosy…”

“You go to a date with Tae Yeon, don’t you?”

This time, Junsu turned his head to Changmin with shock expression in his face, a red gorgeous blush coloring his cheek.

“No… I reject her” He exclaimed, a way too loud in his own ears.

“So… “ Changmin cleared his throat before asking him another question.

“What is the thing you need to do, until you don’t want to see the dance practice, the one you usually became too hyper when some one mentioned it?”

“I’m looking for a job…”

“What? Why?”

Junsu sighed; pausing a little time for wondering what words he should tell Changmin.

“Because I need it for my mother’s treatment…” He decided it was the best to cut the explanation short. He felt like a loser when Changmin’s annoying face softened into a worry looking one.

“Is she okay?”

‘No, she isn’t, she isn’t showing up every morning, barely can walk, I hear crying every night. I saw dozens and dozens of pill in her table, her hair was losing, and our money was sucked for almost empty, but she didn’t get better.’

“Yes, she is…”

Changmin didn’t notice the smile in Junsu’s lips was a way too stiff to be a real one.

The sorrow is light a moonlight shine through of the window

it is so beautiful, but it is so sad

The chill cold wind passed the boy’s body, it was a cold night, beautiful but cold, just the way he liked it. The whiff of smoke stepped through the air from the pretty lips soon spread into a thin air before disappearing completely to the darkness of the mighty night.

“Life is a bitch, eh?” the raven hair one asked the other as he took the nicotine stick from the other’s mouth and sucked it himself, feeling the sweet bitterness poison seeped into his lungs.

“I thought you quit smoking,” Yoochun asked the other, eyes met the other’s beautiful wide ones.

“I thought you quit too, especially after your mother got you with this shit in your mouth.”

“She doesn’t need to say how I must live my life.”

“Does she know about your work?” Jaejoong asked his friend, eyes absentmindedly looked at the bar, it was so quiet when it was closed, a contrast when it wasn’t. His pale skin gleamed in the dark, a sorrowful adult mirrored in him before his proper time. Life had been shaped him too much until he left nothing but an empty beautiful façade.

“I don’t think so. Even she knows, she doesn’t have any right to stop me work here, especially with our money condition.”

It was his sixth month working there. ‘Pulsatilla’ held too much that he could imagine. A sweet escape toward the dark and sad cocoon he called home.

“My grandfather forced me to another school, I need a better education,” Yoochun snorted when he remembered the old man’s words.

“Good for you then, how is your new school?”

“Filled with rich bastards.”

“You are rich too, you don’t count him?”

“If he was my grandfather, why did he let me suffered in Virginia? Where are him, when we have nothing until we must scratch the dust from the place we lived for…?” Yoochun rolled his eyes before took another huff of the cigarette in his hand.

“Whatever, he is still your family…”

“You are scary when you say something wise like that…”

“Whatever, your shift is tomorrow night, 9pm sharp, no late, or the boss will kill you.”

“The boss is practically my best friend, even he is a pain in the butt.”

“You are bitchy tonight, what happen? I guess your grandfather decision piss you much, eh? Is the new school that bad?”

“It’s not your business, boss…”

“Your boss is practically your best friend…”

Yoochun groaned, hand held high helplessly before he pulled a small crystal box from his pocket, inside a beautiful dried flower kept securely. He played with the thing with his fingers, eyes narrowed at the sight of the poor dry flower, which its stem knotted into a ring.

“I just meet someone…”

“Someone annoying from the school, I guess.”

“A little, he is just too friendly, I don’t like him…”

Jaejoong laughed, too cold for someone as pretty as he was.

“You are a child…”

Yoochun smiled, he tucked the box back securely in his pocket before patted it whole-heartedly.

“He is someone from the past…”

“Huh? What did you say?”

“Nothing…” Yoochun stood up, put his cigarette to the ashtray and stretched the slender body. Jaejoong still eyed him suspiciously.

“For 22 years old man you are annoying. I must go home, mother will bitching again if I stay longer here.”

“Is she okay, Yoochun?”

“She is okay, the best condition, especially when she was sleep and not nagged me much.”

Jaejoong smiled, a curve sadly beautiful one.

Yoochun walked to the door, ready to walk home. He remembered of the bitter memory in his past before he and his mother decided to go back to Korea. No happiness reflected in his brain corner, all erased with shouts and tears from his parents until they decided to go separate way. That was the best, he guessed.

“It’s been a long time Junsu… Too long, I guess…” He whispered while all the silent words swallowed by the dim moonlight of the dark night.

The blossoming sorrow takes a root into the strongest heart

It will bleed until it turns into a weak one

Junsu sighed, walked slowly towards his home, his twin had already asked about his location. Junsu had never gone home late like that. He eyed the road like it was the most interesting thing in the world. That day might be his bad day, he didn’t get any job he liked. Most of them offered a long working hour with minimum payment. Junsu thought it was a waste of time. The good ones had already got all employers they needed.

Suddenly he bumped into something, or rather someone. He felt his ass kissed the hard road before he sat there to rub the sore spot in his butt. He looked at the person in front of him, and his eyes went wide at the sight.

The person was pretty, ghostly pretty for the brief summary with the raven black hair framed and accentuated his pale white skin.

“I’m sorry…” Junsu murmured quickly, gaped at the sight in front of him. Stumbled a little in his feet when he tried to get up from his previous position.

“No problem…” The pretty one grinned, as he looked Junsu gaping sight. The grin slowly turned into amusement as he eyed the other.

“Oh, I’m sorry…” Junsu pulled his jaw back to his original place, felt embarrassed and nervous at the glinting eyes in front of him.

“No problem, I used to get that kind of expression…” The grin was back and the beautiful one waved his hand in the air, signaling Junsu that it didn’t matter.

“Oh…” Red blush spread to Junsu’s cheek when the other mentioned his previous expression.

“Well, kiddo, what is your name?”

Junsu was taken aback when the stranger asked him his name.

“Jun… Junsu…” He didn’t know why he stuttered when he answered the other’s question. He nagged himself for talking so openly at a stranger with mysterious aura in front of him.

“Well, Junsu… This is my card. You have an appealing face, by the way. If you interesting for a job, just call me or got to the place in my card,” The other extended a card to Junsu. He just stood nervously before took the card from the leaning hand.

“The pay is good… And, you can work there even you are underage…” The other winked, too suspicious in Junsu’s eyes, but he still took the card.

“Okay, nice to meet you Junsu. “ the pretty stranger spun in his heel before walked to his previous direction, left the dumbfounded Junsu. A grin appeared in his pretty face when he remembered the face of the boy again.

Junsu shifted in his bed, tossing for the nth times. He eyed his twin who snored peacefully at the other bed beside him. He sighed; eyeing the card he got from a stranger back then.

Kim Jaejoong

‘Pulsatilla’

082XXXX-XXXX

“Pulsatilla, ” The name contained a secrecy and whispered sin in his tongue when he rolled its name. ‘Pulsatilla’ was a bar, famous for their best looking, pretty, and handsome hosts, Junho told him when he asked his twin. Where did Junho know about it? Junsu decided he didn’t want to know.

“Is it okay to work there?” he asked himself, finger played slightly with the corner of the card. The other one reached the small bottle in his necklace.

“But it was like a dream,” He whispered as he remembered his strange way of encounter with the pretty stranger. He was looking for a job, and suddenly the beautiful person bumped to him and offered him a job. It was not everyday situation.

“It is like a sign…” Junsu bit his lips while he talked to the small bottle in his necklace. He closed his eyes and dreamt about pale skin and beautiful orbs stared back at him. He woke up tomorrow and realized that those eyes were Yoochun’s.

“Junsu…”

“Where were you yesterday, wait… Is it a bruise?”

“…”

“Don’t hide it…”

“…”

“Where did you get that?”

‘It was my father.’ “I fell…”

“Don’t be so clumsy Yoochun, you hurt my heart when you are hurt…”

“…”

“Come to my house, I’ll put some ointment, my mother usually give it to me when I fell.”

“…”

“Come one, don’t be so quiet.”

“Okay…”

[I don’t mind getting it everyday, if you are there to kiss away the pain for me…]
