Hayley was getting her head back on straight. There was the whole problem of figuring out what to do after graduation, but for now she was focusing on just looking at her real possibilities. Career paths, if you will

"Hey you," Hayley said, looking up from her note-making. "Make yourself at home, why don't ya?" Her smile, however, was very broad. She always liked seeing Elle.
"You'll be glad to know I've ruled out running for president," Hayley said, still smiling. "Tryin' to figure out what I'm going to do after I graduate."
"Hey, at least I decided it wouldn't be a good idea!" Elle defended. "And You could so be a model. You're pretty enough for it. Dancer could be kinda dicey. And gold digger might mean you'd have to marry someone old and gross."
"...or somebody with a rich dad," Hayley said, giving Elle a wink. "But yeah. If I knew how to break into it, I'd definitely do the model thing. But there aren't exactly model reality shows back in Gotham... not that I want to go back to Gotham."
"So don't go back to Gotham, then," Elle said with a shrug, as if it were really that easy. "Stay in this universe and find out how to get into modeling. It can't be that hard to find out."
"I guess I don't have to worry about my record, here," she said. "But there's that whole rent and stuff problem. Maybe that prostitute thing isn't such a bad idea..."
"Well... you could steal stuff and sell it," Elle said. "I know, you don't wanna steal. I'm just sayin', it's an idea. Or you could just get some regular job while you break into modeling."
"But it is better than stealing or prostitution," Hayley pointed out. "And... staying here and working through the summer would give you more time with me."
She was not looking forward to that separation after graduation, no sir.
"...that's a very good point," Hayley admitted, taking the moment to sort of throw herself at her friend for a hug. "Sometimes I forget about the really bad part of graduating."
"Hi!"

What? Nobody ever claimed Elle had any sense. Or a brain/mouth filter.
"Wait, no, that probably wouldn't be too fun. Um... what're your options so far?"

Her outrage was not heartfelt.

She did still have a problem with impatience, no trauma could get rid of that.
