"Awwww, I better let you breathe, huh?" Elvira said, finally getting up off her mother's bed. She went over to look in the mirror and check on her make-up. "I'm just playin'."
She looked around the room and sighed.
"Oh please don't tell me this isn't during your stupid goody-two-shoes phase."
"What?" Hayley said, sitting up in her bed and rubbing at her shoulders. They ached a bit, and it was really throwing her off. "Aren't you supposed to, like, be nice to your mother? And I'll be as nice as I want to be."
Elvira rolled her eyes and looked over her shoulder back at her mother. "Funny," she said. "Now I'd love to stay and chit-chat, mommy dearest. But I think I'd rather see what fun a girl can dig up in this shitty little town. Maybe I should borrow your old jester's outfit, play a good old prank."
She laughed, having way too much fun with all this.
"What?" Hayley said, getting up out of her bed quickly. "Prank, outfit, come on, what aren't you telling me?"
She didn't like the look of this girl, the feel of this girl, anything about her. But she couldn't help but see the resemblance in that face, but the eyes, the lips... those were pure Bianca. She didn't know how that ever could happen, but it chilled her deeply.
"Don't you dare mess up anything for me here, you got it?"
"Oh, mommy, mommy, mommy," Elvira said, cackling a little bit. She spun around, bashing her mother in the face with a brass knuckled fist. Hayley crumpled from the unexpected blow, knocked out cleanly. Though she'd have one hell of a bruise later.
"You weren't kidding that you used to be thinner," the girl said, a shark grin on her face. "You have a long night, mommy dearest?"
She laughed, a laugh that reminded Hayley just a bit too much of Bianca.

"I'm nobody's mom," she said, trying to keep her head clear. "Unless... awww hell, it was Prom last night, wasn't it?"
She groaned. "You're my kid?"
That was a lot of make-up on her kid.

This was no good at all, in her book.

"You'll thank me later," she said, grinning.
