Our neck of the woods

Hiya! Sorry its been awhile since I've done a proper update but life has been soooooo busy!

Went to the doc on Friday to have my blood drawn for some tests and then back again that afternoon for a visit with the doctor. I now have TWO lovely inhalers. Yay me. ::grin::

So, you want pictures ...

This was a particularly lovely evening last week. I noticed the sun was setting and the light hit the Ochill Hills and it looked like a painting.

Aiming the other direction, you can see Stirling - the Wallace Monument is that big stick-looking thing on the hill...

Sunday (last week) P, C and I went to Abernyte to the Antiques Center to look around. They have some really interesting stuff there. From jewelery to furniture, from paintings to vintage clothing, its all there. Some of its expensive and overpriced but some of it is priced very affordably. On the way, we stopped to take some photos. Okay, okay - P stopped, I got out and took the photos. It was a brilliant day!

We had a hot drink and then looked around. I always love going up there - there's this one wardrobe that reminds me of my Grandfather's wardrobe in his bedroom in the house they lived in when I was a kid. Next time I'm up there, I'll take a photo of it and let you see it for yourself. I'd love to have it but its VERY expensive - like stupid expensive!

When we were on our way home, I caught a glimpse of a hot air balloon. I took a few photos of it but it was C who got the best shot.

We were almost home and I saw a cloud in the sky that reminded me of Arkansas - it looks like a Razorback (for my UK friends - the college mascot). If you can't see it, just humor me ...

Yesterday, we decided to go pay P's Mum a visit. The twins really enjoy going to see "their Gran" (they call her that, I never asked them to). On our way, we stopped to get petrol in P's car. We (me and P) were joking around about something and I said something (just joking around) and C said, "Hey! Don't talk to my Dad like..." and he just stopped himself. I never in a million years expected to hear that! But what it meant - C feels close enough to P to see him like that. He'll never call him Dad but that's not the point here, is it?

On our way, we stopped to see Friend M. I really miss her! Didn't stay long, just long enough to have a light lunch and a cuppa. I really need to get a girl's weekend with her! And soon!

On to Ayr! We had a fantastic visit - the boys behaved fantastically, we got to see Mum, SIL C, BIL M, and nephew B. It was a great visit. A fabulous day!

Today, we wanted to scoot up to Knockhill Racetrack and see if there was anything going on. It was cold ...

But there were a lot of really cool cars running up the track.

Needless to say, we've had a brilliant weekend!!

weekends, family, photos
