Stuff

This may be a long one ...

I think the starting the new job, leaving the boys (who are more than old enough to be on their own), and worries about other things are stressing me a bit. I am very excited about starting work. I need to get out of the house and I need to earn to help support the family financially. I'm a working Mum and I really need that outlet.

There are other things on my mind. I do stuff around the house all day. Wash clothes, clean, cook, organize, etc. I could literally be a stay-at-home Mum because there really are so many things to do here. One thing I'm worried about is how the house will be when I'm gone for 8-9 hours a day.

Another one of my stresses is caused from the lack of storage space in the house. I have loads of clothes and they need to be put in the wardrobe. But bless him, P has loads of stuff that needs to be in the wardrobe, too. Since he's been the one working and I've not (until next week), I've given his clothes priority. Now its time for my stuff to find a home and I've been unsuccessful thus far. P said he'd rearrange stuff in the hall closets so he can put his stuff in there and let my stuff hang in the bedroom (we literally don't have room for another or even a bigger wardrobe). Well, that in itself causes me stress. I'm beginning to think I like stress? ::grin::

Which brings me to an annoyance with the way houses are built over here. I mean, people have had clothes since day one. They've had to have something to cover themselves up in, right? So why not build closets??? Okay, fine ... so some of the older houses don't have them but what excuse is there for newer houses (I mean, those built in the 20th century) not having closets??? Seriously??? exhale

We were supposed to go yesterday to visit a castle (I say "we" meaning me and the boys, P was working) but it started raining and I ran out of time so we didn't go. But we are going today - to Linlithgow Palace. Then we may go by and visit P at work.

P and I had dinner with his boss and his wife Wednesday night. It was a lovely dinner in South Queensferry at the Bridge something-or-other. Its the one with the model train inside. Fantastic food, great service, lovely atmosphere. Only thing I'd change is the size and placement of the windows on the top level. The view is amazing! Shame you can't see it better from the top floor. But the evening was very successful and we had a great time. It was the first time I'd met R1 and Mrs. R1 and we got on like a house on fire.

P surprised me the other day. I noticed that one of our wedding photos was missing and I texted him to ask if he knew where it went. He told me that he thought since we recently put up some other wedding photos at home that he wanted to put one of them on his desk at work. That particular one had a crack in the glass and he thought I wouldn't miss it. I noticed it the day he took it to work. I still have two shelves full of birthday cards (two which arrived from America) which I'll probably take down over the weekend. I always keep stuff like that, though, so I can always go back into my little box and look at them when I miss my friends.

I'm hungry so I'm going to scoot and get something to eat. I'll catch up later.

Told you it was a long one....

family, updates
