Opera and oil and sunshine

Mar 12, 2005 13:49

Well, yesterday proved to be quite the adventure. I didn't even take a nap, although I was running on around 3.5 or 4 hours of sleep. I did buy coffee, though. Ohhhhh glorious.

I worked out with Erin, Sam, and Ashley, and had a great salmon dinner. I ruined Justin's day by pointing out when he got to the table that he couldn't eat his chicken nuggets because: 1. He's Catholic, 2. It was Friday, 3. It's Lent, and 4. Catholics can't eat meat on Fridays during Lent. Hence, I was eating fish, because fish is allowed. Kasse tried to make Justin feel better by saying, "I bet there's not really meat in them anyways," but the damage was already done. Sorry, Justin!

Later, I went to the opera with Erin, Ari, and this guy Erin kind of knew named Paul. Die Fledermaus was SO FUNNY. I loved it times 10! I was cracking up. The dance scene is totally worth the $10, too. One of the girls on dance team with me was dancing in it, Lena. She rocked it. :) So yes, I went to the opera, and it was glorious, as well. Made even more glorious by another cup of coffee right before. Thank you, James.

After the opera, I rushed to a practice room and played the piano. I went to get my music but I had left it in my room, so instead, I played with no music. And you know what? I played all three of my songs all the way through without music. YESSSssssssssssssssssss.

I ran into Pat, one of the guys I hung out with the night before and a fellow pianist, and he asked me what I was going to do for the rest of the night. I said I didn't know. He ended up inviting some people over to his place and so I went with him and Brendan and picked up another piano player, Michelle. And Stephen showed up too. And we did some drinking. So we had a music people party. And we made bad puns referring to the Kostka-Payne music theory book. We also watched Edward Scissorhands and Being John Malkovich, but I don't think I really paid much attention. We did drunk dial Chris Davis, and that was pretty funny. And by pretty funny, I mean really funny. Later on, I also left a message for Chris that said: "Chris. We just all got done having sex with Pat. I know you're jealous. Okay. Goodbye." Stephen and Brendan left at some point, but Michelle and I just ended up staying at Pat's. He made us eggs and pancakes this morning. Mmmm breakfast.

Aaaand I just typed up some anthropology. I'm ready for this quarter to be done, done, done!
