Short-list of authors for CW 30 Author Study Module.

-Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket)
There's quite a bit of information available out there about this author, but I was wanting to do only his alias, and there's quite a bit less substantial info out there about Lemony Snicket.
-Sarah Dessen
Probably my all time favourite author, and she'd be excellent for this project. However, I've been a fan of hers for so long that I don't see myself getting overly excited about this project if I were to do it about her.
-C.S. Lewis
I think if I met this man, I would faint. However, that is not likely to happen, since he is dead and has been thus for over forty years.
-Kit Pearson
She's basically my idol, but there is little information about her out there, and I keep finding the same stuff over and over again. However, she did win the Governor General's Award, and I could probably go on about that for at least a few minutes. ; )
-Wayne Johnston
This guy is crazy talented, and also from Newfoundland. His The Navigator of New York was one of the best novels I've ever read. He could definitely make the cut, depending how much I can find out about him.
-Frances Hodgson Burnett
SO much to read up on about this author because, let's face it, how much more classic can you get than The Secret Garden and A Little Princess? Also, she's very interesting, the whole rags to riches story and all that.
-Victor Hugo
I'm in complete awe of this man, but his writing is so heavy and period specific, I don't think I'd be able to do it justice in explaining it.
-Theresa Breslin
A Scottish author that wrote a novel about the First World War that I adore. However, she's published twenty-five books and I've only read one, so I'm not sure if it would work. Maybe, though. I do have all semester to work on this project.
-Emily Giffin
A very contemporary author that recently published two companion novels about best friends feuding over the same man and then living on different continents. Otherwise known as "chick lit". I would love to study her, but something tells me that she was not exactly what Ms. Yeager had in mind when she assigned us this project.
-Betty Smith
She wrote A Tree Grows In Brooklyn, and had a distinct writing style, even for the time. And, I think her technique would be fairly easy to explain compared to some others on this list.
-Ann Brashares
Eh, maybe.
-Meg Cabot
Lather, rinse, repeat. Although, quite likely, because I've fallen in love with the character of Princess Mia and the concept of Genovia.
-Diana Wynne-Jones
Primarily a fantasy writer for children, and author of Howl's Moving Castle. Has had a very successful career and is quite well respected. Hmm, maybe.
All right, so maybe this wasn't such a short list.

I will not let myself do J.K. Rowling, I will not let myself do J.K. Rowling...
