'I was delayed,' won't fly, will it?

At any rate, when he does show up, it's with apologies to the people at the door, and an immediate focus on finding Camille.

(he should probably be nervous)

(he isn't, really)

"Je suis désolé, mon chéri."

A slight, one-shouldered shrug.

"You're here now."

Her green eyes flick up then, and she smiles. A little, but she holds out her hand to him to show she isn't angry.

Annoyed, yes, but not angry.

He takes her hand, kissing her knuckles very lightly as he sits down next to her.

"Holding up alright?"

"I have waited in worse places."

In theory, and then her smile flickers a little cynically.

"Delayed, I take it?"

"Well."

He tilts his head to one side, amused look on his face.

"Not on purpose, anyhow."

"Oh, I'm sure." And she is.

"Nothing too bad, I hope?"

"Not bad at all."

"Good," and then half her attention is caught by the waiter walking over.

"What do you feel like drinking?"

"Ah - Chianti?"

She glances at him, gaze a little sharper than normal, but when she orders her voice is smooth and assured. The waiter nods, slides his notebook into a pocket of his gold vest, and continues his circuit.

He wouldn't expect any less of her.

"I hope no one's been pestering you too badly?"

(He knows all of these people. Part of the reason he was late was simply getting across the room.)

"Nothing I couldn't handle."

Pause.

"Although, another ten minutes, and I may have done something rash to Alameda Fuentes."

Normally, Camille doesn't really care about the various arguments and feuds simmering in Bolivia. She is, however, prepared to make exceptions.

Dominic takes a moment to look over at the aforementioned individual, nodding slightly.

"Mm. As highly entertaining as that might be, I can't say that would be a good thing."

"Not in the longer term." Her tone is regretful, then she shakes her head with a bright smile.

"But you've managed to save my family's honour, so I suppose I should thank you."

He smirks.

"My pleasure."

Another sharp look before she looks back at the stage. The girl currently singing might be a daughter of the elite, just like herself, but she's genuinely talented and a pleasure to listen to.

"I've already flicked through the menu, so let me know what you feel like." She says after a moment, handing him a menu.

She also wants to work out what is up with him.
