Well, all the employees who are with me in being "Transition" while a new buyer is found got a FedEx package on Monday. Originally, if we had not been bought by Dec 31, then our last day was going to be Jan 7. Well, on THE LAST DAY POSSIBLE, we all get a letter saying they are extending our "Transition" status until Jan 25; an extra three weeks.
So, on the one hand, it is encouraging. They wouldn't be extending the deadline if they didn't have someone seriously interested and if they didn't reasonably believe that the deal will go through. On the other hand, it feels to me like they're stringing us along and it's STILL a "wait and see" game and we still don't have any definite answers.
And then, of course, I didn't receive any such letter on my doorstep. But I find out (just now) that it's because noone was available to sign for it.
But one was sent out.
So I'm okay.
For now.
