and she came home like she had many nights before. but she found her home burned when she arrived. a black field of ash on her beautiful lawn. and she morned her home because she loved it more than anything because it was where she felt peaceful and comfortable and what she was proud of. It was her life.
and she sat in the ash for a long time and tried to build ontop of it. but the foundation was burned and structures wouldnt hold. and she got cold and she didnt have the protection of a roof. she didnt want to leave her home. she didnt want to sell it to other buyers who liked the land it was on but would never know what made the house once beautiful. she didnt want to let go of the home she built and grew up in. but the longer she sat in the ash the sadder she got the more lonely and unhealthy. she needed to get up she had to walk away or else everyday she would dwell on the pain of coming home to the burning house. she cupped her hands and put some ash in her shirt pocket over her heart and never washed it away and carried some with her always to remind her that the house raised her, protected her, and allowed her to grow to what she was now. but she had to stand up on her own, she had to walk away or else everyday she would dwell on the pain of coming home to the burning house. she couldnt say goodbye because she would never really leave her home it would be with her always just not the same and she had to see it could never be the same and stand up. whether the ashes understood she didnt know she cried for the beauty of her house burning she cried because she couldnt protect the house from a fire she didnt see coming. she cried cause she loved it more than anything and they had to be seperate. but she had to get up and let the land free. the truth is a part of her burned with the house daily and always would but she couldnt make her home in a place that wasnt as beautiful, protective, and peaceful as the one she knew in her dreams. no one would ever understand besides the girl what happened to her when the house burned or what it took her to move on her own feet.
