The danger isn't that Scientology will stay standing, but that we'll fail to claim the credit we deserve. If we walked away from this fight now, someone else would strike the death blow and claim the glory. The FBI would investigate and raid and prosecute and the news would go out to the public: The Co$ has been brought down... by an FBI investigation. We know that's not true. We know that the FBI is only involved right now because we are breaking open the way. But if we drop back to the shadows, the public will not credit us with our victory.

This must be a victory for the internet itself, for the people of the internet. This victory must be a clear sign to all who would oppose the open flow of information: You will not just be foiled, you will not just be opposed, but you will be followed to the end of the Earth, to the end of this g'laxy or even the "next g'laxy over." We will make an example of you. An enemy of freedom is an enemy to all. We will make a world where none dare stand against freedom.

In time this battle will be legend. Every meme of ours which outlives this time will become an enduring message: This is a memory, it will say, from when the internet first awoke. This is a memory of a time when someone still dared oppose those freedoms which the internet most passionately defends, and a time when the world heard with unmistakable clarity that those freedoms will never again be tarnished. The internet's here. The pool's closed. We must count our coup.
