"Relatively Happy"

He lived to make her smile and loved to hear her laugh
Her spasms filling his ears with her beautiful voice;
Like so many children at a circus.
He wanted to be her favorite, to have a place
So special in her heart that he could not be touched;
Life's hands reached out and grabbed him.
As he sat with his head in his hands
He realized there was still light in his day
A smile came across his face and he said

"Im relatively happy.
Got love in my life, got more life to live.
Im relatively happy.
Seems this is the best of what life can give."

He loved her to death and it nearly killed him
for each beat of his heart by burdoned by another;
But he could think of no other way.
She thought of him once; he thought of that moment forever,
Holding onto the memory of her memory like
The most valuable of possessions.
Life could never be perfect, but this was.
As he thought about changing his mind's imperfections,
A smile came across his face and he said

"I'm relatively happy.
Got live in my life, got more life to live.
I'm relatively happy.
Seems this is the best of what life can give."
