That's a gorgeous banner. Unfortunately, I think HP and I had a falling out a year or so ago. :)

Haha, I didn't make it, some other brilliant person did! I had such a hard time choosing as well, actually, there were some really beautiful ones.
And OMG how come you and HP had a falling out??

*laughs* I guess I liked 1-3 the best--after it started to get angsty, I didn't like the characters as much but I liked the intricacy of the plot, so I finished it...and the epilogue was definitely a :s moment.

The last two books are my favourites!! I love the intricacy of the plots - when I reread I keep picking up on little things that become so important in the later books and I'm like WOW. And not gonna lie, I cry every time I read the final book.

Have to agree with the epilogue thing though. I felt a bit let down. 'All was well' was a shitty way to end such an epic series. I tend to stop before the epilogue now when I reread it :)

It was so charming, I felt, in the first few books--an amazing world, with all these powers and their little quirks.

The last book was...draining. I still have trouble reading about some of the things, like Dumbledore's death in the book before (or was it the one before that?)

Oh, I definitely agree that it gets darker and darker as it goes on, but there are hints of some heavy stuff in the first couple of books (the Mirror of Erised, the Chamber of Secrets etc). I think it was really par for the course that it would get progressively even darker, because we learn more and more about Voldemort's background, more about the final showdown between Harry and Voldemort. I do agree that it's hugely draining though, I always feel tired after reading the last couple. But there's so much going on, so many subtexts and plots and details that all weave together in the the end! I love it ♥
And Dumbledore died at the end of Half-Blood Prince ;)
