You Love Me - Spencer/Ashley [South of Nowhere]

My first South of Nowhere vid!! Yay! It was actually made because ragemorejacko won the auction I held for help_haiti (I am holding another one right now in aid of Chile, just so you know). She requested a Spencer/Ashley vid to this song, and so I made it! I'd been wanting to do a SoN vid anyway, so she just have me the extra push I needed. I'm not sure if I'll be making more - I'd like to, but I think I'll need higher quality clips so I can do more complicated effects. We'll just have to see!

The video is basically told from Ashley's point of view, about how she became softer and more open after Spencer arrived. I mostly used clips from Seasons 1 and 3 in order to show the difference Spencer made in Ashley's life.

Production notes
SONG: Since ragemorejacko requested this song, there was never really any question as to music :)
EFFECTS: This song is quite deceptively simple. It sounds like a fairly simple song, but vidding to it was surprisingly hard. There were so many different threads to the music, it was hard to know what to vid to. In the end I went with my gut and mixed it up a bit: mostly I stuck to a fairly regular edit to the soft, higher beats, but I occasionally went according to the lyrics when I felt like it worked. So I hope it did! The bright colour obviously represents the happiness Ashley feels with Spencer, the darker clips represent the way Ashley felt before Spencer was there and the things Ashley doesn't like about herself.

Since this is a SoN related post (ORLY?), I'd just like to take this opportunity to rec a really awesome Spencer/Ashley ficcer. Her name is uselessmarks, and she writes the best South of Nowhere fic I've ever read. She posts it at passion_perfect, under the South of Nowhere tag, and it is incredible. Go read!

(Oh, and I was just glancing through the My Guests page thing earlier, and I noticed quite a few usernames that seem to kind of lurk at my LJ, and a few that I don't recognise. *waves* I don't bite!! So it would be lovely if you could say hi! I'd like to get to know you :D)
