As far as best records of '06, Ben mentioned most of the good ones including Joanna Newsom, Thom Yorke, Flaming Lips, Mates of State, Pipettes, ect. But instead of listing them again, i figure that i will list a couple more records that i think should get some recognition.
1. Yo La Tengo- I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass
2. Yeah Yeah Yeahs- show your bones
3. Belle and Sebastian- The Life Persuit
4. Beirut- Gulag Orkestar
Also, i just got the new Decemberists and I'm From Barcelona records. They would probably be on this list too, but i haven't given them the proper listening time.
