[Inmate Filter]

It's curious how many Wardens don't seem to be the morally sound individuals I imagined they were. I have to wonder... What really divides us at all? How does one choose who needs redemption and who gets to do the redeeming?

[Private to Bela]

I wonder if I might pick your brain about something...

this redemption stuff is whack yo, uniting the masses, plotting plotting plotting

Hardly any of the wardens are morally sound. My warden is one of very few. His wife is another, Donny, and Martha Jones.

The others are by no means an example to their inmates.

It begs the question then of what the point of it all is. If everything is this unstructured, then who amongst the Wardens can even claim they have a right to judge us?

Exactly! They claim to be fair and have our interests in mind but they have more prejudices than we do!

Indeed. And worst still, they can barely organize themselves into a cohesive unit. They're all working towards different goals, even as they act like they're working for our best interests.

There's no rhyme or reason to it. They came here of their own volition. We weren't given a choice. That's the only difference between us.

They act toward their own goals and what they want and covet, not for ours, not for each others. They chose to escape from whatever they were running from, my warden is no exception. But he tells me not to run from my single crime when he ran from his. It's blatant hypocrisy.

And that Sargeant Howie. He claims to be a moral man, but he says that vampires are not even humans and aren't worthy of redemption.

I'm being judged for my own actions when what I did was only what anyone in my position could have done to make something of himself in an uncaring world. We're prisoners in a place where the men who hold the keys to our cells are nothing more than errant vagabonds fighting for a scrap of mercy from a man who seems to delight in our discomfort.

I, for one, am beginning to suspect that this is all a game for the Admiral's amusement and not a test for redemption at all.

And I the same. Anyone would have done the same thing in my place. But I was the one who was blamed and seen as a wrongdoer. After three years of morality and humility and giving everything to those around me. I had nothing to my name but the clothes on my back.

And still I was brought here for one act that I thought was right and just.

We should be the ones in charge. Not them.

The line they've been comfortable with for so long deserves to be eradicated altogether. There's no need for redemption. There's no need for any of this. We're all acting under another person's sense of mercy. I believe it's high time that someone eased us all out of the Admiral's chokehold.

I was told that someone known as the Master successfully overthrew the Admiral once.

But he's lost his memory.

Even so, he's proven that it's possible. I hardly need to know how he did it. Just the fact that he did suffices.
