Rogue Wave was pretty neat.
Ray Lamontagne was amazing, except we were sitting to the side of the stage and apparently all the sound was aimed from the stage to the opposite wall. I don't know the technical details of the set up for an acoustic-esque show, but it had a noticably different effect than the sound at the other shows I've been to there. It was a lovely moment when the crowd fell silent for his encore. He was so quite, even on mic we could barely make out what he was saying when he said two words here and there. But stunning, by the end it seemed like he had both the audience's attention and respect. I really hope he felt good about it. I've only ever seen Ani have such power over a crowd. It made me wonder what it would have been like to see Elliott Smith.
Guster was not so bad. I actually really liked every song they played sans drumset. It was fun.
The meet and greet with Guster was awkward. We were most excited to see Pete Kilpatrick though. Neither of us are really passionate Guster fans, and both of us really wished Ray Lamontagne would join the crowd. Stupid Joe guy sort of forced us to get his autograph. I don't like him. But the drummer rules. He was on his way to drunkville right before our eyes. The wea girl was nice too.
Yeah. Kristina has cool cats and she is a sweetheart.
