[She sounds thoughtful, and not really all that freaked out]

I thought you weren't supposed to realize that it was a dream while you were... well. Dreaming.

That's true, though in some cases you are do realize you are in a dream. It's called lucid dreaming and you can even control the way the dreams will turn out.

[Lemony realizes he's going on a tangent]

Of course this isn't really a dream, if that is what you are referring to.

I've never had a lucid dream though, myself.

Neither have I.
I tend to have nightmares.

Very nice to meet you.

[Muttered]

Even though you're just a dream person.

Uh, I'm afraid you're still a little confused.
This isn't a dream, as odd as that may seem.

Well, of course you have to say that. You're in it!

...
[A pause, then a rare chuckle]

You have me there. Would there be anyway I could convince you that you are not dreaming?

Of course not. Nearly anything can happen in dreams.

I see.

Have you tried pinching yourself? That seems to be the standered response if one believes they're in a dream.

I've heard that doesn't really work.

It might not, but then again it might. After all, you shouldn't be able to feel physical pain in dreams.

onlyacasson October 11 2009, 19:31:03 UTC
Shouldn't you? Even if it only exists in your mind.
