My very late back-to-school entry.

Jan 22, 2003 14:29

I haven't written an entry since I got back to school, so I guess I should write one. Well, it's not like anything has happened since I got back.

I'm definitely happier here than when I was home. I mean, it was really nice to be home and all, but there was nothing to do. And when I have nothing to do, I tend to think too much about everything, and that's definitely not good for me. Now that I'm at school and have everyone there all the time, it's not so bad.

Classes only started yesterday and I had three. I'm going to have another class today at 4:40 and then I would've been in all my classes at least once.

Organice chemistry is going to be impossible to stay awake in. Not only because it's an 8:30 lecture (whose brain functions that early in the morning?), but because my professor is the most boring man you will ever meet. He's reviewing topics, so who knows if he'll be a good professor when it comes to the new material. And also, let me just tell you I have an hour and a half of orgo lecture Tuesday mornings and then a two-hour recitation that night as well. Except that he's going to actually teach during the recitation. This is going to be bad.

My history class is pretty good. I'm taking Modern China and the professor seems to know his stuff. I was just reading the text before I got on the computer just now. I think I'm going to like this class.

My psych stats class seems to be good too. I haven't done math in so long, so I hope it won't be hard for me or anything. But at least we did some of this stuff in biology last year, so at least there's a little background in me.

And then later today I have Contemporary Chinese Cinemas. It doesn't sound too bad but I bought the books and they're really all about the film aspects and that kind of things. Hopefully I'll keep it though because I wouldn't know what I would switch into, and I'm taking it for my concentration.

I bought my books and they weren't all that expensive this semester. Probably $200 is really expensive for some of you, but it's my cheapest semester so far. And I'm in my fourth semester already. I remember my first semester ran around $600 and the last two have been around $500 I think.

Well, I'm going to go back to reading. I really want to keep up with my reading and homework this semester. I don't want to fall behind after the first day of classes. I'll have another two hours to read and what not. And then I'm going bowling tonight with Anisha, Jimmy and Troy. That should be fun. There's this bowling alley near our school that has this Wednesday night special thing. It's unlimited bowling for $10 in two hours. And free pizza during one of the hours I believe. I feel like such a dork for getting excited about it, but who cares? Bowling is fun for me! :)
