I went down to see Troy as planned and we had a really nice day. We went to eat lunch at my favorite restaurant in Little Italy. We both got fettuccine alfredo. And then we went over to his apartment and just hung out. I actually took a nap because I was exhausted. I haven't been getting much sleep the last few days. And then we went over to Coney Island. It was such a beautiful beach. We didn't go on the beach, but I think I wouldn't mind going there sometime. Maybe next summer. The boardwalk is nice too, but we didn't have enough time to walk up and down it. We went on a few rides, but they weren't really all that spectacular. I'm not a rollercoaster person or anything, but I didn't think the Cyclone was all that amazing. And Troy was saying how the Cyclone was rough, since it's a wooden rollercoaster, and I told him that he ain't seen nothing yet. I was reminded of the Hercules at Dorney Park. We went out to dinner at a pizza place and that was basically our night.
I think maybe we want to plan a trip on one of the weekends in September. Specifically around the 14th. We had talked about getting together at Six Flags Great Adventure at the end of August. But Tom is already back up in Binghamton and Anisha is coming up from Georgia until next Wednesday, so basically the plans have changed.
Well, the thing is that we have a three-day weekend for one of the Jewish holidays (I can't remember which one, sorry!) and maybe a few of us can possibly go somewhere. I'm going to have a car, so I guess I can drive. Alicia, the "new girl" in our suite, is going to have a car, and I guess if we get along with her, and if she wants to come, she can drive too. Karen is going to have a car too, but she's Jewish and she might want to go home that weekend. Nothing is really close to where we are. Dorney Park is actually the closest one, a little more than two hours from Binghamton. I wouldn't mind going there again, even though I was already there this summer. It would be nice to go somewhere else, but everything else is over three hours away (Six Flags Great Escape, Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Darien Lake, Hershey Park).
Honestly, I doubt that we're really going to go anywhere. Most of the people I'm friends with are bad decision-makers, including myself. I'm like that because I don't want to make someone else do something if they don't want to, so I wind up making others make the decisions, even if sometime I don't agree with it. Anyway, I guess we can decide once we all get back to Binghamton.
Today's picture was taken from an airplane, so it's not a great picture. It's during the connection flight from Zurich, Switzerland, to Athens, Greece, last summer. We had to fly over parts of the Swiss Alps and so we decided to take pictures of them. It's the closest I've been to them.
