Title: Natalie
Author: modernxxmyth
Rating: PG-13/R depending on opinion
Summary: A short piece based on a friend of mine. A lot of it is true, but not all. Very dark, a bit off-beat.
Natalie
Natalie was an actress. She preferred the stage, with all its make-up and distant beauty, because people watch from far away, unable to tell that you’re not flawless.
Natalie liked to fall apart at the seams. “Forget” to eat for a few weeks, swallow a few more pills than advised, and watch her flesh bleed.
Natalie didn’t always live in reality. She always liked to make up stories to make herself sound more interesting.
Natalie was a beautiful girl. Hair of copper and blonde - pale, smooth skin - makes you never want to leave her side.
Natalie had an intoxicating personality. Whether it be with comments of “I took the pills with the rainbows on them last week” or “I kissed my friend Ashley” - makes you know if she ever leaves you, no one will ever compare.
Natalie remembers things that never happened. Sometimes her mind plays a trick, and she’ll remember something more interesting - she has to stay intoxicating.
Natalie doesn’t touch herself - she thinks it’s icky. But if you would pretty, pretty please stick your fingers in her cunt, she’ll return the favor like the world’s ending.
Natalie always seems so wonderfully full of life. But really, she fakes emotion because she’s empty.
Natalie dates boys and kisses girls. She’s always searching for something.
Natalie sometimes likes to make her coffee with whiskey. She likes to play adult, but inside she’s still a little girl.
Natalie has the unfailing ability to break a person. No matter what the truth may be, you’ll always tell a lie to please her.
Natalie likes to make you forget that time still exists. You’d spend an eternity right beside her if you could.
Natalie will sometimes scare you. She’ll call you up and ask, in a numb, morbidly curious voice, “What happens when you cut vertically down your wrist, in between those two tendons?” (Silence is always the initial reply.)
Natalie was always searching for the right kind of affection. She did her best to find it when lips fused and fingers grazed over her bare skin.
Natalie wears long sleeves to hide her secrets. But if you watch her carefully, you’ll see fingers drifting under the sleeves, across her forearms, tracing and counting the scars in her head. (one…two…three…four…five…six…seven…eight…nine…ten…)
Natalie went to Rwanda to help the people find God. It's too bad she only went to convince herself that she'd found Him, too.
Natalie was almost sent away once. She wasn’t crazy, oh no, but some people just don’t know what to do with a girl of such character.
(We’ll just pretend she never talked to her dead best friend in her closet last week.)
