Men
“You came out here because I kissed you.”
Pete’s words liked to echo through Addison’s head a lot. She wasn’t a fan of the voices because, really, who needs someone else to tell her what she’s thinking and doing? She really hates when his thoughts get stuck in her head, and she just can’t get them out.
She didn’t come to California for him.
No, really. She didn’t.
The kiss had been good. There was no way she would deny that. It was good, and wet, and hot, and good a couple more times.
But she didn’t come to California because of one kiss. It wasn’t because of Pete. Really. What was it with her and doctors, anyway? Derek…Mark…Alex…now Pete. These male doctors really need to stop being s damn attractive, she thought, but took the thought back immediately. No…they should stay attractive, she reasoned with herself, definitely stay attractive. She just needed to control herself and fall for the right guy. Some guy who was not a doctor. And did not have a saving-people complex. And was not a man whore. And was not still hung up on his ex. And was not her current co-worker.
These men, she thought with scorn. Maybe I should give women a try, she thought with a laugh, but shook her head. Oh, no. She liked her men. Really, she was addicted to them. She always, always, always went back for more. No matter what. She got back together with Derek. She continued to sleep with Mark back in Seattle. She chased Alex. Now she was pining after Pete.
That damn Pete. With his attitude, and his unorthodox medical treatments, and his good looks. He was one of those boys mother had warned her about when she was young, “They’ll always get you with the smile,” she had warned.
Why hadn’t she listened?
Pete had a nice smile. Derek and Mark and Alex had all had nice smiles, too. Damn men and their nice smiles. I should give up, Addison thought. I should just give up.
No. She wouldn’t take the easy way out (or was it?) in this. She’s fight for him. Yeah, he was wrong for her, just like they always were. But isn’t that what made them all so right?
[It’s not like she moved to California for him or anything.]
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KAT!
concrit appreciated. :D
