Hey, Leonard Cohen IS SO appropriate here! But who cares? THEY'RE DEALING WITH CROATOAN! I never thought this day would come. *happy tears*

That episode just killed me. Really really killed me.

Croatoan - I love that stuff. For one, I'm a zombie apocalypse fangirl, and really, Croatoan is just another variant of the rage virus. Also, I've been interested in that legend ever since I watched Stephen King's "Storm of the Century". So, happy Fireez there.

The Colt - like you, I have my doubts if that will work. I think Lucifer is just way too powerful for that thing, imho. I mean, he's not just some demon. He's THE demon. He's a demon turned to 11. Yeah, I know he gets pegged as "fallen angel", but really, he's just what Dean said he is. BECAUSE he is nice, and civilized, and understanding, and has good points. Just look at humans - the really dangerous ones aren't the angry violent ones, but the charming, nice ones who say they're only doing this for the good of everybody. So, yeah, my thoughts on Lucifer. But Lucifer!Sam? Omg. Charming, good-looking devil you. Especially in that suit of yours.

Time travel is always iffy, because you're right. The future isn't fixed, it's way chaotic. Hey, if you really think this through, you'll see that the past isn't all that fixed, either. But I've NEVER seen it done right in fiction, so I don't expect SPN to do it. My guess is they're going the usual time travel in fiction route, which is "the future is kind of fixed, and you'll have to do something totally unexpected to change it".

Which they did with the reunion. Can I just say I KNEW IT here? Because I did. Because that's the one thing nobody on either side was reconing with, that Dean and Sam would get over themselves and reunite, becuase they've seen the light which reads "you're only strong together".

Totally unrelated to this episode, but I can't help but think, hey, where's the Trickster in all of this? OK, so he's the wrong brand of mythology. We're pretty deep into Christian country here, and Tricksters are inherently pagan, but still... I'd like to see him again, see what game he's playing right now.

Woot, zombie apocalypse!

Re: Lucifer - Yeah... Obviously he's a heck of a lot more than a fallen angel. He was that at one point, but he's gone way beyond that by now. And sure, they say that the Colt can kill anything, but that's only if the bullet hits right. And this is Satan himself. If he can't stop the bullet midair, then he ain't living up to his name. And that's assuming that the Colt really can kill absolutely anything.

Hey, if you really think this through, you'll see that the past isn't all that fixed, either.
WORD. I've always thought that if the future can be represented as a fractal tree, continually and wildly branching off the further you get from the present, then the past would be the same just in the other direction. Of course, that's a different representation of time than the chaos theory one, or the very fixed one that the show seems to go by.

My guess is they're going the usual time travel in fiction route, which is "the future is kind of fixed, and you'll have to do something totally unexpected to change it".
They do seem to be going this way. Kind of bugs me though, because it doesn't fit with what they've done before in relation to the future with prophecies. Of course, these concerns can be hand-waved away pretty easy, so perhaps I'm over-worrying. :)

Re: The Trickster - I KNOW. I've wanted to know where he stands in this War ever since Mystery Spot. Before then it hadn't occurred to me to wonder what all the other supernatural beings would think of this whole angels and demons showdown.
