Of moving, swimming pool, adventures...and the Almight rabbits

Moving is hectic business. There is, of course, the initial rush of excitement from the prospect of relocation, new starts and the fact that moving doesn't happen everyday in one's life. But from there, everything goes downhill. And when the 'moving' is on a continental scale, it gets even worse.

There was the selling of the home which I lived in and finding a new home on another continent...the difficulties (even with the help of my family living on the said continent) is raised several level on the spot  with the words 'another continent'. There was also the dreaded throwing away and packing. I admit that I do have the most troublesome tendency of collecting things for memorial purposes. But even if I didn't, It's hard to pack over a decade worth of things away. So I think I'm justify to say that 164 cartons of shipping goods for a family of four (and two dogs) who all have a tendency of collecting 'things' is pretty decent. Still the things I had to throw away....I still mourn for them! X(

Now I'm finally living in my new home. It's still very, very bare after all our 164 is still arriving...and most furnitures are currently in the categories: 'haven't been bought yet' or 'bought but haven't arrived yet'.  The house itself is absolute gorgeous. I guess it's a typical house you would find in Markham- A sitting room, family room, dinning room, huge kitchen w/ a space for breakfast table a basement and a master bedroom. But Max is getting his own loft (which is the size of a pretty decent size apartment w/ bedroom, ensuite bathroom and a living area that he's so kindly decided to share w/ me)...I have my own room and my own double and my 'own bathroom' (unless someone uses the guest room). Besides our own personal space above me (ie the loft) which will be designed by me. There is a SWIMMING POOL at my place! How cool is that? Grover and Elmo are surely enjoying the new place too (after all, a walk a day has turned into at least 3).

These walks bring along interesting things. For example, just the other day the three of us (Ronald, Max and I) were walking them at night. We've decided to walk around Braeside and back to Vaselle (?) (my cousins' place which we were living at that moment). Thinking back, it was pretty late then. We took a rather long walk and at Braeside, we saw the shadow of a rabbit (?) which the two dogs were about to chase...after dragging them away...to avoid the hassle and the possibility of ruining our new neighbor's lawn, we decided to go through the 'sketchy park' which we've met sketchy ppl on our first day. Turned out, it wasn't sketchy this time...but there was a skunk waiting for us. I didn't quite see it. Ronald was ahead of me with Elmo (whom he has a particular liking) and saw it and ran/led us away. The skunk had its tail up, i think...and that's always a bad sign. Then we thought one lil' incident was enough and decided to take the shortcut back. But then we really did see sketchy ppl. I think Ronald and Max spotted them first...I am, after all, blind at night. I only spotted them when the lighter of one of the occupants of the shortcut lit up. Then we had to take the long way home. It doesn't sound like much now...but it's quite the adventure back then.

About the Almighty Rabbits...*cough* nth much about them but that they normally initiate our running or adventures w/ Grover and Elmo.
