That's Seamus For Ya

Age: 25
House: Gryffindor
Occupation: Owner of Finnigan Spirits, Diagon Alley
Marital Status: The Single Life

Seamus Finnigan is a half-blood wizard: his father is a muggle, who owns his own spirit store, and his mother is a witch. Seamus was very close with his parents, to the point where he originally doubted Harry Potter's claim that Lord Voldemort had returned in 1995, as his mother doubted it, too. But soon thereafter, Seamus apologized to Harry and became an important member of the DA. He had been extremely involved with Neville during the war by taking a leading role in Dumbledore's Army after the trio had left the school. Though he and Neville hadn't always seen eye to eye on all the major issues, he really grew to respect his classmate and fell into ranks behind him as his unlikely leader. It helped that Ginny and Dean were there to ease the stress of war, and he did his best to keep the group laughing.

Seamus is a funny sort of bloke. Other than his doubt regarding Voldemort's return, his friendship with Harry and Ron had been pretty strong. He got along alright with Hermione, though he found her to be a bit annoying. However it was Dean who instantly became his best friend in first year, after they first settled into their room. Seamus had put up his Quidditch posters, and the boys had bonded ever since. Dean even had accompanied Seamus and his mother to the Quidditch World Cup to see Ireland National take on Bulgaria.

Seamus tried to live a normal life after Hogwarts. While he wished he had remained in closer contact with all of his friends, it was more difficult than he had hoped because after graduating he moved back home to start learning his father's business. It seemed like the perfect job for him-- buying and selling spirits-- and he still kept brewing and creating his own stash, hoping to one day become famous for a spell to create rum, or any liquor for that matter. Living back in Ireland he had his parent's huge property to spread out on, and with his brother Colin being recently married he was able to move into the barn out back which had been converted to a flat.

As for Seamus's love life, he's pretty clueless when it comes to girls. He'd always flirted around, and Lavender Brown was his first kiss back in third year. If a girl isn't making the moves on him, then realistically nothing would happen. Seamus had been taught by his mam never to make a move on a girl, and his indecision on the matter just seemed to stick. However, it doesn't stop him from joking around about it. The boy is definitely known for his dirty mind. But underneath it all, he's always had one girl he's cared about. No one knows, but Seamus has fancied Ginny Weasley for a while now. Since fourth year, he couldn't help but notice her. Her fiery personality and decisive wit always had him admiring the younger girl, and when Harry finally made a move on her he just sort of watched from the sidelines, never one to cut in on a mate's relationship. When he heard she dumped him, though, he couldn't help but wonder how she was feeling. He never thought Harry had treated her right, but at the time it hadn't mattered. A mate was a mate, and he lived by those rules.

In 2011, Seamus convinced his dad to let him open a store within Diagon Alley, to let him be closer to his friends. After all, he was sick of his mam trying to set him up on dates with all of the farmer's daughters that were all either too round, too prude, or too marriage-crazed. Blimey! It was nice being back in England, and he was surprised to realize that he found it to be more like home than with his parents.

With the store open about two years now, despite his mam begging him to come home away from the danger (news of the Burning Man had traveled to Ireland, no doubt), Seamus enjoyed living in a flat above his store front, where he was able to roll out of bed and commute the twenty stairs down to work each day. He kept open most days and most hours, knowing that it made perfect business sense to provide people with what they wanted, when they wanted it. He'd hired a few trust worthy people to keep his store going when he didn't want to be there, and luckily for him alcohol didn't seem to be going out of style anytime soon. He had chosen an area of the Alley that wasn't far from a huge complex where many young witches and wizards lived, creating the main income of his business. He also was about four blocks from the Leaky Cauldron, where he was currently working on becoming the owner's major supplier.

(ooc: Seeing as Seamus has been written into many people's backgrounds already, if you could please comment below with what you'd like our relationship to be, that way I can hash out his friendships and make him the bloody BEST Seamus he can be. That would be brilliant, thanks!)
