I'm sorry things are little rough for you this week. I've been following that Austrian event too. And I just turned off a televison program that counted down the 15 most shocking act of violence, and I feel really skivvy that the top three have all took place within the past 10 years, the top two within the past 2 years. Aaarrg.

But I quite enjoyed this chapter. I don't think it's been fleshed as smoothly as some of your others, but it still worked as nice bridge to at least get them (back) into bed together. I'm looking forward to seeing how the next chapter will pick up.

I really liked the bit of backstory you incorporated. The impression that I've always had is that Brennan had a fairly happy, normal childhood and that it wouldn't have been so traumatic and unexpected for her parents to take off if she hadn't. I also loved Booth's reasoning about monsters. They do exist, even if they don't have green fur, eight eyes, and live in the closet.

I look forward to reading the rest of this story. I'm not sure how you feel as the writer, but as a reader I have NEVER felt that your stories lost focus. Thanks for the update!

I really like this fic and I'm glad that you've had a chance to work on it even though your life has been crazy. Nice use of Indigo Girls. I hope that your week does not continue to get worse... I know I sure hope mine doesn't. Be well.

Then, as his boy became a man, he would learn what all adults learned: there were monsters - things that lurked in the dark and yes, sometimes even in the light, and they bit and scratched and hurt you - sometimes in places no one else could see.

The painful truth of adulthood. Very fitting, since Booth and Brennan both have their monsters, as you illustrate so well.

Will be thinking of you this week - I'm sorry it's your turn to go through a lot of unpleasantness. Adulthood, bah. *hugs*

Hee :) As a parent of a willful six year old I have to crash and say I have reacted this very way on many an occasion, only to feel like a bitch and go make it up later on... as Max seemed to in this chap.

Sometimes parents react irrationally too - esp where sibling clashes are concerned - the same old things over and over again and they start to get to you!!

*point at icon* Looks like butter wouldn't melt right? ;)
