Me: So I'm making an art piece out of Regina Spektor screen shots. Do you know who she is?
Mary: Nope.
Me: Oh no. You need to be educated. *shows her bunches of songs*
Mary: She sounds like Avril Lavigne.
Me: *dies*
So then I had to school her in music that she ought to be listening to, instead of Nickelback. Example: Tori Amos, Sufjan Stevens, Ray Lamontagne, Fiona Apple, among predecessors like Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon.
