It's been nearly three months since my last drabble! I'm fairly certain that's the longest hiatus I've taken from writing since I started this journal, but I could be wrong about that *reminds self to check into this*. Inspired by the lack of certain scenes in Half-Blood Prince the movie, and
rhr100's prompt of A MISSING MOMENT FROM HALF-BLOOD PRINCE, I bring you this:
Title: Life's Little Interruptions
Rating: G
Word Count: 100 (according to Word)
Author's Note: This takes place in Chapter 29: "The Phoenix Lament" -- it's right after Harry leaves the hospital wing. This actually went a lot differently when I thought it up, but when I went back and researched where the missing moment was to occur, I realized things did not go quite as I remembered and had to change a few things. I hope it's still enjoyable!
Ron watched Harry and Ginny as Harry followed Professor McGonagall from the hospital wing. “They really care for each other, don’t they?”
“They do,” Hermione answered.
“Hermione, I know it’s too late, but about Lavender, I’m....”
“Ron, there’s no need....”
“No, I want to apologize. I just...Hermione, I....” He stumbled over his words, unsure how to explain.
“Yes?”
“Ronald,” Mrs. Weasley’s voice interrupted her son’s. “I want you to go to your dormitory, and wait for Harry; he shouldn’t be alone.”
Ron looked pleadingly at Hermione who squeezed his hand in reply. “She’s right, Ron - Harry needs you. I’ll wait.”
