Seasons...

I love the change of seasons. I really do. I get this little thrill within me when the weather begins to shift and the scenery transforms. I relish thoughts of activities pertaining to that season-- planting seeds in spring, cozy night by the woodstove in winter. So as you could probably guess, I'm in one of those happy, contented moods with the arrival of fall. It amazes me how much fall is a season of the senses. One might think of it as simply a dead season but I see so much alive in it and so much beauty that delights my senses. Being busy with schoolwork and clinicals makes it difficult for me to fully enjoy the seasons but I am doing my best to take the time to revel in the small joys of fall-- breathing in crisp fall morning air as I walk from my car to the hospital, purposely walking through the leaves after classes just to hear the crunch. Little things can be so refreshing and renewing if we only take the time to see them and enjoy them.
