A la recherche du temps perdu ..
Been away for Paris Photo for the last 5 days, no laptop and phone not enabled for roaming so felt somewhat out of touch. A pipe leaked in the bathroom of apartment where I was staying which caused the ceiling of the apartment below to almost fall down, didn't need to have to deal with that as it wasn't my fault! Seen so many photographs from all over the globe, and some very inspiring. Some in the Grand Palais and others in a show in a garage, which were decidedly edgy. Walked miles and took hundreds of photos. Not sure quite why I decided to post some on here first, but I did. The weather was gorgeous except for Friday when it was grey and mysterious.
Anyway, I also love colour and will post some of those when I get round to it, but for now, this is what I see when I walk the streets. I haven't been to some of these tourist places for years - Eiffel tower, Montmartre, Place des Vosges, Jardins des Tuileries, cemetery of Pere Lachaise, the bridge of padlocks for eternal love (which is relatively new) etc. - but it was fun to revisit them in somewhat vintage style. I forgot how grand and amazing Paris is, a truly wonderful city. London has some very impressive parts but it lacks the huge scale and grandeur and quantity of open spaces that Paris has. It's all about the details, the light and the shadows, and also the frankly bizarre. I couldn't wait to get home and upload them onto my laptop and see them bigger than on my phone .. all these were taken on my iPhone. Who needs a fancy camera! It was hard to choose from so many, but these are the ones I like best. I like the square format as it's neither portrait or landscape.
Now I'm exhausted as for some reason I woke up at 3.30am, probably worried about the water leak and whether it would be fixed before I had to get my train, and couldn't get back to sleep again, so it's been a long day.
