[Someone finally called her out on it.]

I didn't... really have all the time to stop by the library and find a cook book. [She had Minako to look after and leaving the house for more than a few minutes is just absurd!] I was convinced I had memorized the recipe for ginger cookies! ... though I suppose the vital word in that sentence is 'was'.

[An annoyed huff. She... gets annoyed by small antics like these. But more so when it's clear that cracking open a good book could clearly save the other all this trouble.

It's not like she cares, really, but she's the one who insisted on dialing. Might as well finish what she started.]

You could've just asked. I'm sure someone would've gotten you the information some way or another.

From the sounds of it, you've wasted a lot of perfectly usable ingredients.

[... and feeling guilty right about now. Ah, she's right! If she'd only relied on other people a bit more, then the cookies could've turned out much better.]

Why are you baking, anyway? You could just save the time and go get a packet from the grocery.

But... a packet is so impersonal... Homemade shows that you put a lot of effort and care into it, I think.

What exactly are you hoping to practice, anyway? Without a recipe, you're just reinforcing the wrong concepts.

Excercising my memory? I wasn't aware that I had the recipe wrong until after, so I suppose...

At the very least, the cookies themselves seem to be fine. It's merely the taste that's off. I'm happy that nothing ended up burnt, at least.

Damn lucky, are you. If you keep relying on luck like that, one of these days, that house is going to burn itself down.

Be better prepared next time. It's still winter. If you don't have a roof over your head, it's not going to be pleasant.

[Ada is surprised, but she quickly scrambles for something to write it down on. After managing to get the recipe, she smiles brightly.]
